Our stay was very disappointing from start to finish. We arrived on a Tuesday and were told at check-in that our room wouldn’t be cleaned until Saturday. In the meantime, we had to go to the front desk for fresh towels (which were never brought to us), and no one ever came to collect the dirty ones — they just piled up in the bathroom.
When Saturday came, housekeeping said we weren’t on the list to have our room cleaned, even though we had been out of the room daily from 8am–4:30pm. Later that evening, she returned to say we were on the list, but after asking for a few minutes to get dressed, she never came back.
There were also maintenance issues: the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, and since we didn’t have fresh towels, we had to use the soaked dirty ones to mop up the water. The toilet is right next to the shower, so we were constantly stepping in water. Maintenance only unclogged the sink and didn’t fix the leak.
I requested a blanket mid-week and was told someone would bring it — it never arrived. I ended up buying one from Walmart. On top of all that, the room was very outdated and in need of upgrades.
This experience was not reflective of the Marriott brand I’ve trusted for over 20 years. I’ve already switched my upcoming August reservation from Courtyard to the Hyatt. Very disappointing.
