Family holiday

A perfect place for a holiday for a familie of 6 adult and 5 children age 1 to 7 years. It was a safe place for the children and å lots of thing to do. The atmospher of the property is excellent.

Our first trip to Italy.

The moment we pulled up to Casa Fontaine, our reaction was "Wow." The amenities were great, the property beautiful and the weather cooperated. We visited the surrounding villages, hiked trails and enjoyed reading by the pool Gianfranco was the ultimate host, so helpful in all aspects of our visit. Thank you.

What a view!

Beautyful house, beautyful location, great host who speaks very good english. We had no problems with either arrival or departure. The nearest grocery store is about 10-15minuts away, which is no problem.

Lovely house set in substantial private grounds in a stunning location

Casa Fantone is an idyllic rural jewel. Although the substantial house is comfortable, the grounds are those of a country house so you are pretty much undisturbed. Not only that, set high on a bank of the Casentino valley, the views are breathtaking, particularly at sunrise with mist over the towns below. The host is charm and kindness personified, coupled with the common sense of someone who has seen it all before - a treat in its own right.

One of the best properties I have visited

Gianfranco is a superb host, he was waiting for us on arrival and gave us a guided tour of the property to make sure we were familiar with everything. A very kind man who provided a welcome basket of his own Olive oil and local wine. The property is excellent, the location and views superb and everything a group wanting to relax in Tuscany could ask for. If you want to walk in the area, the village of Quota with an excellently stocked local shop is 1.5 miles away and there are track through the valley to neighbouring villages if you want to go off the beaten track. The Town of Poppi is about 3.5 miles away and is well worth a visit, great local cafe's and stores in abundance. Poppi station will provide rail travel to Florence and beyond if you do not want to do too much driving so no excuses not to go and explore Tuscany.

Great villa with super location

We stayed in this lovely villa for one week in October. It was twelve of us ages between 7 and 70 and everyone had a brilliant time. We wished we spent more time just relaxing in the villa and the garden. The views are fantastic! There was plenty to do in the garden. Our kids have enjoyed using the table tennis, bar football, the football/basketball area and our son loved the swings. Everything was spotless clean in the house, even all the areas outside were very clean which we don't usually see in the villas. We loved sitting on the balcony for breakfast and admire the views, we also loved the fireplace. Gianfranco the owner was very helpful from the time we booked the villa all the way to the end. Nothing was trouble for him. He greeted us on our arrival and was very helpful every day, he organised the mini bus for us to go on the wine tour so our day went very smoothly. Gianfranco brought all the wood for the fireplace for us and also lovely vegetables from his garden. Two evenings we had Stefania (who was recommended by Gianfranco) cooking dinner for us. The food was delicious and it was plenty left for us to have for lunch and dinner the next day. We would definitely stay in that villa again if we come to this area. A Slice Of Paradise

We stayed 2 weeks. Week 1 had 5 adults and 2 young children. Week 2 we added 2 more adults. There was plenty for all to do. The views were spectacular. The owner was wonderful and so accommodative. The pool was refreshing and clean. Parking was easy. Stephania came to the villa to give us a cooking lesson, served and cleaned up. Perfect stay. Gratzie Gianfranco!

The house and the pool are big and beautiful, and the view is superb ! The area is very quiet because there are no neighbors, so you can rest quietly. The host is very nice and very attentive, everything is really perfect ! We were ten friends eating on the terrace each evening, making home made pizza, and we did midnight-bath each day ;-) We went twice in Firenze and once in Arezzo to visit these beautiful cities. The holidays were so great.... I recommend Casa Fantone that is ideal for holidays with friends or family, so do not hesitate, it is probably the best place to be between Firenze and Arezzo !

Beautiful restored villa in Tuscany with panoramic views

Two families stayed together very comfortably and took advantage of all the villa had to offer including the swimming pool, ping pong table, hammocks, and even the outdoor stone pizza oven!! Come here to unplug your devices and get away from it all. There is plenty to explore close by—we explored the castle in Old Poppi—but it is also close enough to Florence to make a day trip easily. Get passes to the Uffizi and Academia in advance as they sell out!! We also visited towns of Arezzo and Siena from the villa—each about 1 to 1-1/2 hour drive. If you want to just enjoy the villa and skip the day trips, the pool with the view of the valley below is all you need!!

Our Amazing 3 Weeks in Poppi, Tuscany!

We had so much fun at this charming farmhouse villa! Our host/owner, Gianfranco, was so accommodating, and his response time was quick. He helped us find a driver for some trips that we did around Tuscany. He found us a wonderful chef that came to us twice for real Italian cooking classes. The house was spacious and fit our friends and family well. We brought our grandchildren and Gianfranco provided a crib & highchair. The property was absolutely beautiful & the history of the family is so interesting. We felt immersed in the Poppi culture, and the small shops in town welcomed us with open arms. The weather was a little colder than we expected so we needed layers in the morning and during the night. We made amazing memories and plan to return! Thank you Gianfranco and Poppi!

Just great

Me and 5 other friends had a really great time at the house. Gianfranco is an outstanding host. He was there when he could help and gave us the privacy we wanted to at the rest of the time. The property has a lot of space a really nice view on the mountains and in the valley. It also offers a lot of activitys. There is a football field, a pool, table tennis, table football, a big kitchen, some fire places, a classic pizza oven build of stones and heated with fire and more. Nice supermarkets are reachable in 15 minutes by car. We are a group which can be loud some time. Because the house has no neigbors, we had no problem here. Gianfranco, thank you again! This is definitifely a recommandation.

Wonderful vacation!

We spent 2 fantastic weeks in Casa Fantone! The house was very beautiful in a traditional, classic style. Still very modern and comfortable! All bathrooms were perfectly renovated and beautiful! Everything was in very good condition and it was clean and functional. The view from the property is stunning, it is better than any photo can show! The facilities were very good, the pool was great, and we used the table tennis table and the football game a lot! Mostly we had the dinners at home, using the big bbq grill. We went out to a few local restaurants; Ristorante Torricella and Ristorante Park Hotel in Ponte a Poppi were we had very good pasta and meat. We also went a couple of times to a pizzeria in Ponte a Poppi. Very good pizza. Do not recall the name, but it was situated just opposite to the Agip station. We made a few trips to winemakers in the Chianti-district and also to Montalcino. Approx 1,5-2,5 hours by car. The owner, Gianfranco, and his wife gave us excellent service. Very helpful and kind! Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche im Haus von Gianfranco verbracht. Das Haus liegt ungefähr zehn Minuten vom kleinen Ort Poppi entfernt und bietet eine traumhafte Aussicht auf die umliegende Hügellandschaft. Es handelt sich um einen alten Gutshof, der rustikal eingerichtet ist. Es fehlte an nichts. Es ist perfekt für einen Urlaub mit Freunden. Gianfranco war sehr nett und hat uns immer wieder Kleinigkeiten wie Wein, Gemüse oder Kräuter aus dem eigenen Garten vor die Haustür gelegt. Er ist ein wirklich netter und großzügiger Gastgeber. Wir würden immer wieder zurückkommen.

Skønt hus med fantastisk beliggenhed

Vi var en familie på 7 personer. Bedsteforældre, søn, svigerdatter og tre børnebørn. Stedet levede absolut op til forventningerne. Autentisk og charmerende hus med rigtig god indretning, et fantastisk udendørsområde, lækker pool og imponerende udsigt. Vi nød at lave dejlige måltider, som vi kunne spise med smuk udsigt over bjergene, børnene elskede poolen, og vi tog på ture i omegnen, som byder på idylliske landsbyer og uberørt natur. Arezzo er også et besøg værd. Man skal dog være opmærksom på, at det tager lang tid at køre ad de snoede veje. Ejeren var meget venlig og opmærksom, så vi kan absolut give stedet vores bedste anbefalinger. Det ville dog være rart med flere karklude og viskestykker. Tak til Gianfranco for en super oplevelse.

Wunderbares Haus für Großfamilie

Entspannte Woche in einem herrlichen ursprünglichen nicht touristischen Gebiet der Toskana. Der Gastgeber hat für alles gesorgt, ist hilfsbereit, und trotzdem zurückhaltend. In 10 Minuten erreicht man auf der Nebenstraße Supermärkte, Restaurants usw..Alles da was man braucht. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
