This was a great place to stay. In town, easy to walk to a few restaurants and shops. We had a restful sleep and the place was super clean and well stocked. Thanks so much!
Great location! Bed was comfortable ,but if you are light sensitive bring an eye-mask, bedroom is very bright. Apartment had everything we needed .Alyson was very easy to contact & responded right away when we reached out .we would definitely stay here again.
we loved staying in this adorable house! Very close to downtown- we felt safe walking to the bars and restaurants after dark.We will for sure stay here again if we are in town again.
We stayed here while in town for a wedding and it was the perfect small getaway for our family. Small but clean and had everything we need. Walking distance to downtown and the river.
Stayed here 2 nights for a weekend of hiking. The property was clean and very easy to get to. It is in walking distance of a few restaurants and watering holes. We would definitely stay here again. Loved the area and the property.
Our stay at this recently updated historical home in PdC was very enjoyable! This home was conveniently located to the activities we did, and you can walk to many places. Communication from the owner was also fabulous. We choose VRBO over hotels for the extra space and privacy, and this historic home did not disappoint.
We loved staying here. We were comfortable and it was so clean. The host was very friendly, and replied quickly with all correspondence. Quiet neighborhood and stuff to do within walking distance.
Came to area for live music downtown. Area was great. The rental was clean and cozy. With in walking distance of downtown. Great communication with owner.
In WI to visit our granddaughter and we needed a place to stay close by that provided us with great eating establishments and in safe are all within walking distance and this place nailed it. The accommodations were comfortable and quiet. This is a yearly trip so we will definitely go back.
We had a fantastic stay in Prairie Du Chien. This little gem was in a perfect location to downtown. The property was very clean and just as it was described. We had everything we needed. Our family fit perfectly. I really enjoyed the little porch area off the back. Great place for coffee and a good book in the morning. I would highly recommend.
Beautiful apartment in a sweet spot to enjoy the driftless area. Just minutes away from Wyalusing and Pikes Peak. After long days of hiking, it was amazing to return to a warm shower, air conditioning, and space to be cozy and play cards. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed to prepare meals. We plan to return soon!
Beautiful home! Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! The location was close to everything we wanted, and we even walked to dinner! Parking wasn’t ideal, as we couldn’t park in front of the house, but there was a concert in town that weekend. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure there are more towels and wash clothes, available! I would definitely stay here again!
The place is as advertissd and as reviewed. It’s not clear in the listing that this is half a house with the other half being another rental. That said, the places are clearly divided and we experienced no noise from the adjoining property. One downer is that street parking is pretty much probably always required. While there is enough room on the drive for two cars if the adjoining propertry, which is larger, is rented and they bring two cars (as was the case for our time there) you are odd man out. Not a deal breaker for us and our car, but be aware that may be the case. We frequently travel by motorcycle. This would have been less than ideal if we had the bike this trip.
They did a nice job remodeling. It looked nice, but the living room was very uncomfortable and the TV was small and froze up quite often. Just fyi, the kitchen light kept going on and off. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen very nice.

Great location and a nice layout with plenty of room for eating in or having a place to relax after a long day. The place was very clean and easy to access. It was nice to have AC in the upper bedroom. The bathroom was small and could have used some hooks or places to place toiletry items. The closet was large but had no hangers. It’s a beautifully remodeled older home close to many dining options and less than a mile’s walk from Villa Louis.
Loved the historical home and location. Very clean and had everything you would need. Walkable to lots of great places. The front and back porches were perfect for morning coffee and evening refreshments. Highly recommend staying here vs the hotel scene.
Prairie du chain has historical locations, close to state park for paddling, unique bars (back water, blackhawk, fraziers, the tavern…..great music scene in the evening And!! …. You need to get a burger from Pete’s. The train was fun to hear and see. We embraced this friendly river town. So much to do and see for a 2 night 3 day stay.
The property is nicely updated. Worked well for our short visit to the area. We spent most of our time, while there utilizing the porch. We noted a few things that could be an issue for others. Like the TV is very small and no cable channels that we could find, The shower is also very small and not very clean. (in my opinion) and It's located on a busy street. Still no hangers but was told that would be rectified the following weekend. The kitchen light, we think, is on a motion sensor, explaining why it goes on and off so often???
