“Me and my Nephew stayed here for a long weekend. It is a great location for exploring the area. We went as far as St. Ignase for a day trip. The cottage was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed as far as towels, kitchen items, toiletries. I was surprised to see a smoker there for use, we did use the grill. The furniture is comfortable. Over all I would definitely come back. ”

“A returning guest to the Embers Cabin and it did not disappoint. Nice binders filled with information about the area provided by owner. Bed super comfy. All amenities were accurate with online property description. Clean, tidy and peaceful! It was great to unplug and unwind here. Also as a solo traveler, I felt very safe at this location. 10/10 recommend.”

“We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend @ Grand Lake Cozy Cottage. The layout of the home is perfect. The kitchen is at least a 4 person working kitchen so that was great. The additional dining space was a plus. Due to inclement weather, we ended up having a great 'game day/night' at the table. It was enough for 6 people. The levels of decking was a bonus as was the boat house play room. It was nice having a long dock at we brought two fishing boats along with us. You won't regret renting this……

“We have stayed at ** many** VRBO rentals over the years and the Rapid Retreat definitely goes in our FAVORITES bucket! The cottage is very beautiful, updated, and is filled with everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. Everything is clean and tidy. The large deck provides a great place for morning coffee with a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed using the new kayaks to explore the lakeshore, and sitting by the campfire almost every night. “This is a really cute place to stay. Me and my guests stayed 7 nights here when originally we were only going to stay 6. However, we added an extra night so we could stay longer. The host was very good with communicating and super nice. Just a heads up if anyone wants to stay here there is an actual hot tub in the backyard and not the inflatable like the picture. Honestly, I would still stay here again it’s super cute and a quiet neighborhood too. They did a really good job at making this place……

“From the moment we arrived, the cabin was welcoming - clean, organized, all the items we needed for cooking and serving, feel at home decor. A great set up outside, as well. The location is a nice short drive into Alpena and the surrounding area. A beautiful view across the lake, including a wonderful view of the sunrise. And nicely quiet. We highly recommend this rental. Great communication with the host (quick responses and wanted to make sure our stay went well). We will be talking about this……
