Our home is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac and centrally located for day trips. Sit and enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the boats come in and out of the Harbour and listen to the sound of the sea birds. Watch the deers and rabbits just outside your window as you have breakfast in our well appointed kitchen and breakfast nook.

We are just 20 minutes away from the famous Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse and the Swiss Air Memorial. Travel a little more south and experience the coastal views of the quaint villages of Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunemburg. Experience their historic charm, the exceptional bakeries and checkout the local artisans and cafe’s.

The City of Halifax is only 20 minutes away as well and offers several historic sites, including the Halifax Citadel, Pier 21, and Historic Properties. Hop aboard the Harbour Hopper, an amphibious vehicle that will take you on a tour of the city and then hop in the Halifax Harbour to show you the city view from the water.

Enjoy the cuisine from one of the many restaurants and pubs with flavors from around the world. Don’t forget to stop by the Seaport Market on Saturday’s for some local produce, unique handmade items and local art. Stroll along the waterfront boardwalk or through the Public Gardens or take the kids to the Discovery Centre for a day of science fun! There is something for everyone of every age.

East coast Outfitters is only 10 minutes away and offers kayake rentals as well as groups tours. Hike High Head Trail in Prospect for a unique trail experience and only 5 minutes into the Village of Prospect. If you are a golf enthusiast, Granite Springs offers an 18 hole par-72 Oceanside course and is a short jaunt down the road and in the other direction there is Indian Lake Golf Course and a driving range located across the street.

Our home away from home is comfortable and spacious, and boasts warm, friendly, and functional decor. We are just 40 minutes from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Some short comings

We feel strongly that we were not advised that the hot tub was not working, the plug in the main bathroom was not working. Sofa recliner was not working. One of the extra chairs was not usable.

Ants & no hot tub!

This property is fairly new and the owner was responsive. The ho tub was empty and we were told that the guests before us broke it. Although the house looked clean, there were ants all over. Even on the bedroom walls and on top of dresser. We traveled by car and were looking forward to the hot tub. Spoke to owner and was told she would take care of it but no one ever showed up to fix it. It looked more like the pipes froze during the winter.

Beautiful!

If you are looking for something remote, beautiful and close to land sights this is it. House was very clean and fully stocked. There is not a grill and the hot tub was not working but other than that incredible. Bedrooms comfortable, bathrooms nice, very clean and updated. We took an amazing hike that the locals told us about along the coast. If you walk to end of cul de sac there is a trail that goes to a bench on the water. Views were great! Took incredible pics! Not far from Peggy's Cove and Halifax. Highly recommend.

Nice home in quiet location

The property had a lovely view in a quiet location. We had some initial problems with the code to enter the house. A few phone calls and the problem was solved. We were disappointed that the hot tub was out of order. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. After we solved our initial problems we had a wonderful stay.

Honeymoon

Our honeymoon experience at Marcia’s place was marvellous. Everything was spotless and in pristine condition. The home is spacious and situated well as it’s within easy reach of Halifax and Peggy’s cove. Marcia was extremely gracious and accommodating.

Perfect home away from home!

This was the perfect place for my family of 4 (including 2 adult children) to use as a home base while exploring Nova Scotia. Upstairs, the master bedroom has its own bathroom. Two additional bedrooms share the bath across the hall. Beds and furnishings were comfortable. Downstairs, the living/dining room and kitchen were just the right size: spacious without being overly huge for us. Small powder room and laundry room were handy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking supplies, including a few basics like seasonings, cooking oil, etc. Back door opens onto a deck, which overlooks a small yard, backed by woods. Adirondack chairs are handy for enjoying an early morning cup of coffee or tea. The hot tub beckoned, but it was not working during our stay. From the front of the house, you have a nice view of the bay in the distance. Be sure to take the short walk to the end of the cul de sac, and follow the trail through the woods down to the dock, overlooking the water and a pebble beach. Another longer trail takes you to another part of the shoreline. Explore! During our stay, we visited Halifax twice (museums, tours, shopping, restaurants), Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg, Blue Beach (fossils!), and Luckett Winery (lunch at their cafe). We also spent a night at an inn in Digby so we could do an early morning whale watch in a Zodiac. Saw humpback whales, dolphins, seals, a puffin, and other sea birds. (Whale watches are also available closer to the property, but we wanted the Zodiac experience.) The property manager was very helpful, easy to contact, and responsive to questions. I do recommend this property for your next Nova Scotia visit!

Great house with a gorgeous view

House was pretty nice and the view was great once the fog cleared after 3 days. Well equipped and very quiet neighbourhood. We even woke up to a deer in the front yard one morning.

We had a wonderful time in Prospect Bay! Our kids loved walking down the path to the waterfront view a short distance from the house. Ms. Wilson is easy to work with and has a beautiful home.

Beautiful home with great views

The house is beautiful and well kept. It is at a convenient location to Halifax and Peggy Cove, and in a peaceful neighborhood with gorgeous surroundings. Furthermore, Marcia is responsive and helpful with suggestions on restaurants and activities. We enjoyed our stay at this property.

Trip to Prospect Bay

We enjoyed our stay at Maria's place although it got off to a rocky start. The code we had been given for the front door was wrong and we had no way of contacting the owner other than email. Fortunately I had a number from an earlier conversation a year ago when planning the trip and it turned out to be the previous property manager. She put me in contact with the new property manager ( who was in the Yukon at a wedding ) who managed to get us an access code that worked. The house was lovely with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and beautifully decorated. We couldn't watch tv because there was no digital box hooked up the tv ( although there was an HDMI cable hanging down ) and I contacted the owner who said she would look into it. The location was great - only 30 minutes from Halifax or Peggy's Cove and just over an hour from the picturesque little seaside village of Lunenberg. Our recommendation would be that there was a contact number for someone nearby to deal with in the event of any problems. Trying to track the owner down in Toronto was difficult. Other than those few difficulties we enjoyed our stay in Nova Scotia.

Beautiful spot, nice home

The house was well appointed and equipped. Plenty of paper supplies,dishes, etc. The manager, Sandra, was friendly, available and attentive. The little trail at the end of the road is a wonderful walk with benches along the way and at the end as shown in the pictures. The area is perfectly situated between Halifax and Peggy’s Cove. Nice golf courses near by and Shaw’s Landing is a great seafood spot 15 minutes away. There are beautiful bay views around every curve in the road.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. It was our first time in Nova Scotia. We absolutely loved the views, hot tub on the back deck, watching deer just a few feet from the front deck. The space has more then enough kitchenware and linens. Very clean and cozy!

Incredible location and Lovely Home Away from Home

This was our first trip to the Halifax area. The home itself was very clean and neat with a very nice and mellow decor. The house is actually quite new and the linens, towels...are of the highest quality. When we arrived the entire area was shrouded in fog. We were not quite sure what to expect but on day two, the fog lifted and we witnessed an unsurpassed natural beauty. We travelled to Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenberg and spent a lot of time on the Halifax waterfront enjoying the many amazing activities scheduled for tourists. Amazingly, we discovered that the nicest spots were really close to the house. We spent several mornings in Lower prospect where our daughter was able to swing as long as she wanted in the most amazing setting. It was, however; on our last day that we finally discovered the hiking path at the end of the road (a two minute walk from the house) that meandered down through a very fragrant Balsam forest to a small bridge and deck with benches on the edge of the ocean. Wow! We have travelled extensively, but the sunset over the various islands was among the most beautiful sunsets that we have experienced. I highly recommend this Home Away.

We are so glad to have chosen this property in Prospect on our first visit to Nova Scotia. Close to all we wanted to do on the south shore...Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg, Halifax. The house is beautifully laid out and very well furnished. Very clean and tidy. The bonus was sitting to coffee in the kitchen looking out at the deer 3 m away! Thanks for getting out east coast experience off to an amazing start.
