Vacation Home “Auszeit 14” – Modern Half of a Thatched Cottage with a Dog, Sauna, and South-Facing Terrace

“Auszeit 14” stands out right from the start due to its architectural design: As a modern half of a thatched cottage, it combines regionally inspired architecture with stylish, Nordic interior design. The 60 m² vacation home accommodates up to four people and welcomes one dog upon prior notice.

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms ensure a comfortable layout. The sunny south-facing terrace, the private garden, a fireplace, and the private Finnish sauna provide opportunities to relax—in the summer as well as during the cooler seasons.

Thatched-roof architecture meets modern living

Built in 2021, this vacation home is located in the vacation village of Klein Stresow on Rügen’s southerncoast. Its exterior is designed as a half-thatched cottage, while the interior features modern and carefully coordinated furnishings.

Furniture, artwork, and lighting reflect an elegant Nordic style. The rooms feel bright and cozy. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light and create a direct connection between the living area, the south-facing terrace, and the garden.

Living area with a fireplace and garden view

In the open-concept living and dining room, a sofa invites you to sit back and relax. Here, you can relax together after a trip to the beach, a bike ride, or an excursion around the island.

On cooler days, the fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere. A flat-screen TV is also available. Wi-Fi is available free of charge during your stay.

The dining table seats four guests. Its proximity to the kitchen and terrace makes it the central spot for shared meals and social evenings.

Open kitchen for relaxed self-catering

The modern kitchen is open to the living and dining areas. It features high-quality appliances and a complete set of tableware.

A dishwasher takes care of the cleanup after meals. Whether it’s a light breakfast, a quick snack, or a dinner with friends: the kitchen offers everything you need for self-catering.

South-facing terrace and private garden

The floor-to-ceiling windows open the living area onto the south-facing terrace. Here, you can start the day with breakfast outdoors. Even during the day, the terrace offers a sunny spot for a vacation break.

Garden furniture is provided. The private garden extends the living area outdoors and offers additional space for relaxation and play. Children are welcome, and a dog may also stay with prior notice.

Bedrooms for Adults and Children

The vacation home has two separate bedrooms. The first room has a double box-spring bed with a sleeping area measuring 1.80 × 2.00 meters.

The second bedroom is equipped with two single box-spring beds. Each bed measures 90 × 200 centimeters. This layout is ideal for families as well as for guests who prefer separate sleeping arrangements.

Both bedrooms each have a closet and their own flat-screen TV.

Two bathrooms and a private sauna

“Auszeit 14” features two bathrooms, each with a shower and a toilet. This allows four guests to comfortably split up between the two bathrooms in the morning.

The ground-floor bathroom also features a Finnish sauna. It is part of the vacation home and is available exclusively to its guests.

Towels are provided upon arrival. The beds are already made, so your vacation can begin immediately upon arrival.

Relaxation in any weather

The south-facing terrace and garden provide outdoor space on warm days. When the weather is cool or changeable, the sauna and fireplace provide a pleasant alternative indoors.

After a walk along the Greifswald Bodden, you can start by enjoying the private sauna. Afterward, the living area offers a cozy spot in front of the fireplace.

Laundry facilities in the main house

The washer and dryer are not located inside this half of the thatched house. Both machines are available in the main house as coin-operated machines for shared use.

Bringing a Dog to Klein Stresow

One dog is permitted to stay at “Auszeit 14” upon prior registration. The natural surroundings offer numerous opportunities for walks together.

Guests also have access to their own garden during their stay. We cannot guarantee that the property is fenced in.

Natural Beach and Greifswald Bodden

The natural beach is located about 600 meters from the vacation home and can be reached on foot. A handcart can be used to transport beach bags and other items.

The Greifswald Bodden is also located in the immediate vicinity. The surrounding area is perfect for walks and bike rides, as well as kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding.

After your outing, depending on the season, you can relax at the vacation home on the south-facing terrace, in the garden, in the sauna, or by the fireplace.

Nature-friendly access road and private parking space

The vacation village is accessed via a natural, unpaved road. Vehicles must travel at walking speed on this road.

A reserved parking space is available for guests. It can be used free of charge during your stay.

Three EV charging stations in the vacation village

There are a total of three charging stations for electric cars available on the property. They are not assigned to specific accommodations and are shared among vacation guests.

There is a charge for charging. The fee is based on the length of stay. A car charging cable is not provided; you must bring your own.

Shuttle Service for Train Travelers

If you’re arriving by train, a shuttle from the Putbus train station to the vacation village can be arranged for a small fee. This allows you to cover the final stretch to “Auszeit 14” even without your own vehicle.

Café and Farm Store

The Café Klein Stresow, which includes a farm store, is located right in the vacation village. It offers hot and cold beverages, fresh rolls for breakfast, light meals and snacks, homemade cake, ice cream, and specialty coffees. Regional products round out the selection.

Fireworks-Free New Year’s Eve

The New Year is celebrated in the vacation village without fireworks. Guests can thus spend New Year’s Eve at a property that does not allow fireworks within the vacation village.
