Our stay at Freyja guest houses was amazing! It was wonderfully located at the heart of Reykjavík and closed to many restaurants. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The shared bathroom was a new experience, but ultimately a good one. It was nice having accessibility to a kitchen and the smoothies made every morning for us were wonderful, I can’t say enough about the staff here and how accommodating they are. We arrived off of the first of the morning flight and they were able to get us right into our room. There were a couple instances where I needed help calling places in Reykjavík and the staff was extremely helpful , they help me rebook tours that were canceled and they help me finalize plans to go back to the airport when my trip was done I will definitely stay at Freyja guest houses should I ever return to Iceland? It was a trip of a lifetime and they made it that much better .

Great location, near city center of Reykjavik, the guesthouse owners, Aetis and Ingor were so nice and very helpful with planning tours. We had a room on the 2nd floor which had a common kitchen. There were smoothies waiting for us each morning in the fridge. Loved our stay.

Beautiful well kept property. Family owned - very kind owners and knowledgeable about the area and city. As a solo female traveler, this was just a lovely place to stay. Thank you for making my first trip to Iceland a perfect experience.

Rigidity in Rules
The place is certainly beautiful, but the fact that the bathroom is shared and outside the rooms was not clearly stated. Also, I had to wait for 2 hours to get into the room as it was being cleaned after I had more than 14 hours in a plane and was simply exhausted. While the staff is friendly and people are nice, rules seemed to be more important than guests, this was too rigid, and while it said the rooms open at 13h, I was only able to get into the room at 15hrs.

Real NESPRESSO pids both caf and decaf. Nice fellow guests. Great and informative hosts. I have not stayed in a place without a private bathroom for years, but the reviews were so excellent that I chose this over a traditional hotel in the same price range. I am looking forward to returning.

Clean, efficient, nice place to stay in the city. Everything is in walking distance. So not that there is a playground (maybe day care or pre school) next door. You can hear the kids in the morning but not too early. But in a beautiful city, you shouldn't sleep in anyway.
