The services of cafe and store were excellent. Heads up, drive down to cabin is steep. Recommend SUV and AWD. We would stay again."

"My husband and I, and my mother, spent five days in Durango. The Between the Waters home was a perfect fit for us. The river just steps from the back deck made for soothing time to just sit and enjoy, both the river and the cool weather. The home itself had plenty of room for the three of us."

"The cabin has view of the lake through trees from the porch and and dining area window. I loved the sound of lapping water on the shore and heard geese. The cabin had what we needed, and I did not mind washing dishes by hand. The decor was cozy and quaint befitting a cabin. My husband did not like the uneven floor but I was not bothered. The bed was very comfortable, very hot water from tap, and nice aray of cooking utensils. One does need to walk down stone and dirt steps to reach wooden steps...

"In spite of my last minute reservation and VRBO process shortcomings, the host was more than accommodating from beginning to end. Much appreciated. The outside of the cabin and the location are a bit in contrast to the older and somewhat cramped interior, especially for the price at this time of season. But the only real criticism I have is the size of the restrooms and shower. Otherwise, the property is as candidly advertised by the landlord."

"The cabin and location itself are stunning, could have been a little cleaner as we saw some dust bunnies and dead spiders about. Some of the dishes were not clean and had food residue. The wood stove and record player were a great way to spend our evenings. The cabin is situated on a steep hill but with no snow our AWD Subaru Legacy was able to go up and down it just fine. Also, there are 43 steps up to get to the property at 6600ft elevation.
