2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin with bunkhouse on fully recreational lake
8/10 Good
"We had a great time at this VRBO on Lincoln Lake about 10 miles north of Spooner, WI. Despite being the warmest week of the year in the north woods with 90s everyday, we were able to stay comfortable and cool due to several good fans in the cabin, a great beach area with good quality water for swimming, a nice breeze off the lake, and plenty of shade. A couple nights were uncomfortable, but over all it was not an issue. Water clarity and quality was good, fishing not so much due to very hot weather and plenty of weeds near shore. Twin Oaks Bar and Grill less than 2 miles away has great appetizers (fried cheese curds, onion rings and mushrooms), 1.50 tacos on Tuesday, and 10 home made pizzas on Wednesdays. It's worth the stop. And we went to Hub's River Bend in Trego for a fantastic walleye fish fry on Friday, next door to Jacks Canoe and Tube rentals. We had 2 days with wildfire smoke, but we did not let it deter us. The natural public amphitheater overlooking the lake is a great place to hang out and relax. If your idea of a vacation in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin is sitting inside in air-conditioning, watching TV and movies, and playing video games, this place is not for you. If you prefer to be outside, swim, fish, explore and enjoy your surroundings, you will not be disappointed. Only two complaints is the cabin has virtually no counter space (but a large older kitchen table), and a very sandy area right outside the door. The Weber grill worked great for cook"
4-bedroom cabin on enchanting Cranberry Lake with access to the Minong Flowage
10/10 Excellent
"Great location. Cranberry lake was clean and swimming friendly. The dogs loved swimming as well. Rented a pontoon locally. Enjoy a 20-30 min cruise thru the channel connection to Minong flowage."
LodgeLife Springbrook - Unwind in Nature Lux Log Cabin in the Heart of Adventure
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was clean and just as the pictures stated. Cindy was great to communicate with and also gave great recommendations on what to do and where to go while we spent our week there!"
"The pool area really needs some work. There was mold/mildew spots on the loungers, the hot tub button didn't turn on and the wood in the pool area was falling apart. There were signs hanging up around the area that things were out of order or needed to be repaired.
The room we were in was nice, but rather small for 4 adults that were using the 2 queen beds."
"Our tiny cabin was perfect for what we were looking for, something a few hours outside of the twin cities to rest at for a two nights while we took a day trip up to Chequamegon bay, Ashland,Bayfield and Meyer Beach. Hayward itself is a cute little town as well. The fish museum was unexpectedly fun. Our cabin felt like it was tucked deep into the woods, despite being a block off one of the main roads and next to a small go kart and mini golf attraction. We picked up pizza from Coopers and had dinner on our porch. We loved how each cabin had its own outside night lights, walking path lights that made us feel safe but not overly intrusive and large fire pits spread out among the eight cabins. There are also three docks that spanned the small private grounds. You can hear looms an d frogs and we even had a round deer visit us while making smores! Everyone was quiet and respectful of the shared community and very friendly. Our cabin was the fancy fireflies which welcomed us with solar jar lights and inside custom curtains, pillow cases and artwork in the fireflies theme. It was nice to find a cabin which also welcomed our dog without a large cleaning fee tacked on. We brought our kayaks and were able to go under a bridge and right into the beautiful Hayward lake. You can also launch from this lake directly to the Namekegon river, so paddlers, this is your spot! Check in and out was simple, the cabin had everything we needed and will absolutely be back for more adventures!"
"The place was very clean. Martha was very communicative. The lake was lovely, though no view from the home, which mattered to us as the stairs were a lot for some in our party. Plenty of fish in the lake which was fun for our kids. Well stocked kitchen and space to cook. We rented the pontoon which made it easier to enjoy the lake. We would have appreciated more seating, and more comfortable seating, for unwinding. The lower level family room was virtually unusable as it was so very cold. While we appreciated that there was AC, it didn't cool the upstairs bedrooms and loft and the basement was a walk-in cooler / freezer. The main level was a comfortable temperature but, again, short on seating for our 10 guests. If you're mainly making use of the main floor master and stairs or lake view aren't important to you, this will do very nicely."
