RUN! This place is DIRTY and infested with ROACHES!
I will say this: the location is great, the view is beautiful, the 6 seater golf cart was perfect, and the house has potential. But it was very dirty! All of the furniture was extremely old and stained to the point that it felt nasty to sit on. We had towels covered in hair and makeup (they did bring us clean towels, but that should never have been an issue to begin with - what did we pay the cleaning fee for?!).
And worst of all were the ROACHES. We kept seeing them in the kitchen and to give her credit, the manager Renee did call the exterminator right away, who discovered a massive infestation under the fridge. Because we had little kids he could not spray and set out bait which does not work right away. We continued to have roaches in the kitchen throughout our entire stay. It was disgusting. I have a baby who is crawling and I wanted to cry at the thought of her on those floors. We constantly had to make sure she did not go near the kitchen, which added an additional frustration. In the mornings there would be roaches on our bananas and I even had one even run up my foot! The transition strip to the kitchen was broken and a tripping hazard and underneath there were, you guessed it, more roaches!
This put a massive damper on our trip! We drove a very long way with two little kids (not easy) and we don’t have endless time and money for vacations. I reached out to Bob, Renee’s boss, and he was horrendous. That man should have NOTHING to do with customer service or people. He repeatedly ignored my emails, showed zero empathy, and was extremely rude. When I asked for a partial refund since we ended up in a home that was filthy, roach infested, and obviously not as advertised he basically told us we were welcome to leave!!! The reason he wouldn’t refund any money? Because no one else had ever had a problem! Where is the logic in that? What does anyone else’s experience have to do with OUR experience?! I also don’t believe that such an infestation happened overnight.
If I were the rental property owner, I would have offered a discount myself. Instead he ignored my emails and showed zero concern, understanding, empathy or kindness.
