Book with caution!

1st the positive: the front desk staff was awesome and very understanding and very professional. Now to the room I was very disappointed in the room the floors were dirty but nowhere near how dirty the tub and shower were! There was still hair in the drain and rust spots(hopefully rust spots) the toilet was exceptionally small. The outside parking was very sketchy if you drive anything you take pride in make sure you keep an eye on it. Overall this would be the VERY LAST place I’d stay in San Angelo

I’m not going to pile on, you can read almost all the other reviews and see that this place is in rough shape. If you can afford it, I would stay elsewhere. If it's the best you can do and you need a bed and a shower, it will serve that basic function. On the plus side, all of the staff I dealt with were very nice.

Reserved a king bed but only got a double and looked at the room and the sheets were dirty and had holes and then finally got a room with double beds but was offered a comp so the staff was great but property unsatisfactory.

This place has fallen on hard times. Used to be a fairly nice La Quinta, now is very run down. Understaffed. The pool was closed (and green and not looking too good anyway) and there was no breakfast Sunday morning ("No one showed up to cook"). Room was OK - musty smelling (probably been smoked in) but it was cool and quiet and dark (except for a light in the bathroom that "flickered" all night despite being turned off). It was very cheap - you get what you pay for.

Convenient location. The fixtures and amenities were old or non-existent. No phone in the room. One washcloth and one handtowel. Other guests were partying and playing loud music by the pool until 12 midnight.The front desk had to be called by cell phone. They surely heard the noise without being asked. Tthe breakfadt was barely anything more than cereal, apples, small muffins, and cold sweetrolls.

Convenient location but overall the room and hotel needs a good cleaning. The trash cans around the facility were not thrown out and they were extremely full and trash laying around the trash cans. The layout of the room was nice but needs a major clean from the walls, doors, couch and fridge (something was spilled in there and it wasn’t cleaned. One of the bed covers had holes in it and they were so thin that it felt like you were sleeping with just a sheet. Phone charger cords would not stay in the sockets. But, the young lady at the front desk when checking in was very nice.

I’ve stayed in hotels in the Middle East and Africa that were in better condition than this one. The staff was super polite and helpful but the structure of this hotel is awful. Burn it down and start over.

Property/Safety Issues

I lived in this city when the property was a grear place to recommend. Ive stayed multiple times but this was the last time. I couldn't get my door to lock from.the outside with out slamming the door to get it to catch. From the inside I was not able to tell if door was locked at all. I travel alone alot and rarely feel unsafe. This time I did not. The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. I booked the room at the last minute pending the birth of my first great grandchild. The front desk staff changed me from a smoking room to a non smoking. That was greatly appreciated due to being an asthmatic. On the website my selection was shown to be a non smoking but again great appreciation for the change. The property itself has definitely gone downhill since I last stayed. I wont be back though.

Disappointed

The concrete steps were broken with a hole all the way through. There were no towels in the bathroom. The pool was full, but it was so filthy. You could not even see the bottom of the shallow end. When I ask about getting towels, it took almost 2 hours to get them. The breakfast was out of everything when we got there, which was still an hour and a half before it closed.On the plus side, the staff seemed courteous and helpful to the degree that they could be and they did grant me a one hour late check out so that I could make an appointment without feeling rushed.

The door to the room wouldn't shut correctly. Staffing said oh just slam it. Slamming the door didn't work. TV didn't work. It would have been nice if a different room was offered. Staff was friendly!!

Clean it up or shut it down. Disgusting!

We booked online and wouldve found another place to stay if we hadnt gotten there so late. They had been cited for unsanitary conditions and posted the notice on the office door. Ill try to make this list short: filthy walkways, trash on the ground, shopping cart in breezeway, trash bags sitting by trash cans, burns on the filthy tub, no towels or remote in the room, no vending machines or working ice machine, stopped up sink and they didn't even sell bottled water at the desk.... amongst other cleaniness issues inside the rooom. However the front desk attendant was very friendly. Cannot upload photos at the moment..

I don’t require alot from a hotel. The facility and rooms must be clean, have hot showers, wifi, working ice machine, parking, basic necessities. I generally like to stay at La Quinta, but this one was totally unacceptable. I was given a room and the first thing that hit me was the strong cigarette smoke smell and further investigation revealed a bag of trash and cigarette package in the closet. The front desk attendant agreed this was unacceptable and gave me another room. It did not smell like cigarette smoke but was filthy, large clump of hair in the tub drain preventing the water from draining. I have profound bilateral hearing impairment but the air conditioning unit was so loud it made it difficult to sleep. I believe there is a leadership problem at this particular hotel when I get two rooms that are dirty. Manager should be fired.
