Good things: This is one of the cheapest hotels in a decent area of San Francisco, if you have a vehicle. The included parking saves significant money per night versus other hotels that charge. The hotel is also in a fantastic area, you can walk to basically every good part of the city. The area was safe, no issues with bad people or dirty streets.
Bad things: the hotel is old and not been properly updated in a long time. It has had a “handyman’s special” of paint and new tiles/furniture, but after a couple minutes you realize this place is rundown. There were 2 inch gaps in the outside door so you hear every thing, walls are paper thin, our bathroom door wouldn’t close, everything is basically hanging on a thread or painted over so you won’t notice. It really needs a full restoration, but that would be expensive. Also, if you have even a medium sized car you will have trouble parking, it is incredibly tight, especially in the garage. We had a VW Jetta and almost didn’t fit. Their outside lot is better, use that if it isn’t full.
I wouldn’t stay here again unless money was really tight and I had a car with me, but the area is great so it might be worth it to you.
