Spent three days in SF and stayed here. The location is very close to union square and other excellent destinations (shopping, dining, sightseeing).
The hotel staff is great, they are friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is nice and clean, plus the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a double bed room. We did not use the pool or gym because we were gone during the day exploring/sightseeing and came back exhausted.
I recommend using the valet parking ($75 for 24hrs with in/out privileges) because parking in SF is limited and expensive and there are a lot of car break-ins. I left the car there and we used Uber to get around, not having to worry about parking or my car getting trashed was priceless!!!
The area around the hotel is filthy, but this is beyond the hotel’s control. All hotels in the area are impacted similarly.
NOTE:There are a lot of homeless people in the city and it is truly dirty and quickly becomes unsafe if you don’t know your way around.
Our last night there (I went with my two daughters) as we walked back to the hotel from union square there was a man defecating on the sidewalk in front of everyone. This is not uncommon, there is a lot of human waste on sidewalks and the smell is terrible. This is not as bad as some other areas near the tenderloin!!! We were verbally harassed by transients and even had to Uber short distances to avoid the situation.
