Esta praça tinha originalmente outro nome mas, em 1893, o seu nome foi mudado para Plaza Colón em homenagem aos 400 anos da descoberta de Porto Rico por Cristóväo Colombo. Na base do pedestal há placas de bronze que enaltecem os feitos de Colombo. One of the interesting places to visit in Old San Juan is Plaza Colón. This square originally had another name but in 1893, its name was changed to Plaza Colón in honor of 400 years of the discovery of Puerto Rico by Christopher Columbus. At the base of the pedestal there are bronze plaques that enhance the deeds of Columbus.

It is in the heart of Old San Juan. Hard to find a place so convenient to walk in the city. Only thing bothering me is it is so hard to parking in holiday season. I didn't find anywhere as parking lots nearby are closed
