We soon learned that the property was not .66 miles from Gruene Hall as indicated on the listing but more like 2 miles away. This meant we would not be able to walk to Gruene Hall that evening. "The place looked just like the pictures and was adorable. It was clean and a great place to stay. We would definitely stay again. "

"Overall just okay. Needs updating. Pool had been closed for an entire month by the local health department but owner said they were not aware. Outlet in master bathroom does not work. Had to message the owner multiple times just to gain entry to the unit at the agreed upon time. Codes provided did not work and only way to communicate was through VRBO messaging. Not likely to stay there again."

"Next door unit watched TV all night. It’s unfortunate there isn’t better sound proofing in walls between the units, but that is the only bad thing with our visit. Everything else was top notch, clean, etc. Wonderful!"

"It was a cute little cottage. We didn't think it was cleaned...and having little ones, its important. We pulled the futon out and were surprised by all the crumbs that were in the crease. Also the fans were full of dust and a lounge chair was tore. Instructions were out dated..or not for that cottage. They instructed to leave dishes in dishwasher but theres no dishwasher. Instructions did say there was a quiet time and having to wear wrist bands, and one parking spot per rental. We saw more...

"Very clean! Anything you need and more is there. We did mot end up cooking but all the appliances were in great condition. Comfy beds and hot water in shower. The location is a little ways outside of San Marcos but not a far drive at all. Very quiet and peaceful. The icing on the cake is the hot tub. Perfect temp and strong jets. Perfect for a cold and windy weekend of all outdoor activities. Short drive to Martindale if want to do something fun and quaint. Close by the river."

We visited to view the eclipse and this place was close enough to the Hill Country for a reasonable drive. It is a college town so there are lots of eating places. "The property was CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. Roomy and uncluttered. Everything we used in the house was in perfect working order. Property is easy to find. Quiet neighborhood. Close to many eating establishments and a large HEB. Nice family/property managers. Would definitely book this property again. Since location is in southeast Austin, guests like us who arrive from the south will miss a lot of the awful Austin drivers and traffic (where are you DPS troopers and Austin PD?) "If you are looking for a simple, no frills place to stay that is clean and comfortable, this place fits the bill. Bed was comfy, shower was great, bathroom was small but clean. No carpet in the room but the floors were clean. Our room actually had a small kitchen! Only downside is the elevator had a funky smell and hallway on the second floor smelled like spices. Otherwise the stay was great."

"We stayed in Megs Boarding House for my birthday weekend. Didnt help that it rained and a cold front came thru. But didnt stop us from utilizing the pool. I dont think id stay in megs boarding house again though and would definitely upgrade to a newer cabin. But glad i got to experience staying in there.
