"Beautiful property. You feel like you're away from the busy city. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Sargassum can be an issue but they cleared the beach quickly and often. No fishy smell compared to other resorts. Tropical Al's had delicious drinks. We didnt sit down to eat at Pineapples but got take out to eat on the beach. Food was great. We would definitely book there again. "
"Very hard to report this, but the property was uninhabitable when we were there.. High-level - there was area-wide sargassum inundation. This is not unusual. Low-level - the management's choice of how to deal with the situation in their particular bay (or not deal with it), was/is pitiful.
Facts:
• We had a 4 night stay booked - had to leave early.
• The resort was vacant. There were maybe 5-10 other people total, which I assume was due to the situation (smell).
• We stayed the night we arrived because we had activities booked the next day. We did those activities all day, came back to resort to stay one more night, and left next day.
• The staff was amazing!! They went out of their way to attempt to help us find peace in that insane situation. I'm certain they would like their management to attack the problem more proactively, and also they have no control over it.
• We transited the coastline 4 times, and witnessed other resorts and beaches that were clear, or had MORE active clearing work underway. Reef Haven's clearing activity was non-existent. One guy in the water with a rake and a mask ....not good enough.
• I'm certain that with approval, I could fix their issue in 3 days. I'd bring 3 boats of guys from San Pedro 3 days in a row, put them up in the resort overnight, and we'd clear the beach.
• The rotting sargassum is toxic once it starts producing hurdrogen sulfide. We had to shelter in our room / apartment, with towels at the door threshold.

"Resort is exactly as pictured. Rooms were clean and smelled clean, great view of the ocean/beach, good water pressure and hot water for the shower, and all the amenities were clean and working. The ladies at the front desk were extremely friendly and very helpful. Property is easy to find and right next to the water taxi. The beach front location was perfect so it was close to everything, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. I didn’t eat at the on site restaurant or order from the bar so I can’t say anything about the food, but I did get the complementary drink upon arrival and it was great. There is construction going on next to the property but I didn’t hear any noise from it."
"The property was very clean. The staff was absolutely incredible! They were extremely accommodating and did a phenomenal job of making me and my husband feel welcome. The supervisor Mitch even went above and beyond to ensure my birthday dinner was memorable by placing a candlelight dinner in the center of the resort. We loved everything about this trip and will definitely be back to visit."
"We had a great stay at Belizean Shores Resort and would definitely recommend it.
The location is ideal, situated between San Pedro and Secret Beach, so both were easy to access by golf cart. It is about a 20 minute ride into town, but the area itself is much quieter and more relaxed. There are also a few good small dining spots near the property.
The pool area was a highlight, with a swim-up bar, a nice hot tub, and solid happy hour deals from 3 to 5 PM daily.
The staff were fantastic and very responsive, and being able to communicate via WhatsApp was super convenient. We also made use of the complimentary kayaks and rented snorkeling gear on site.
The room was very clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the refillable water jug that was kept stocked.
Only minor downside was the AC units outside the bedroom can be loud at night, but the hotel provides ear plugs which helped.
Overall, a really enjoyable and easy stay."
"The rooms are spacious and clean. It is a little loud in the mornings being right on the beach and next to a school but nothing that ear plugs couldn’t handle. I would stay here again."
