Double booked
When we arrived in country, we found out the owner had double booked the place. I had messaged them twice to find out how to check in and there was no response. After finding a phone number, my friend was able to call and speak with the owner who claimed they never got our reservation even though we had reserved and paid for the property in full 3 months in advance of our arrival. The owner said we would have to try to get our money back from VRBO. This left us stranded with no place to stay and we had to scramble trying to find a property that had availability that night through the following week (it was a Thursday-Tuesday stay). Later that night we got a cancellation email from VRBO and the owner did give us a full refund. They also sent a text message apologizing for the cancellation.
