Very old, all equipment wasn’t work. In the morning at 8 :30am on 4/14/24 nobody was at concierge desk. We were unable to make check out. Just left a keys. Food for Continental breakfast on Saturday 4/13/24 finished at 8:30 am. I will never use this hotel again and definitely will not recommend it.

The bathroom door didn’t close and there a male African American knocking on some of the doors. We were leaving the next morning, so I didn’t think anything of it at the time.

Property was old, toilet smelled of urine, the door to the unit wasn't sealed properly. in a nutshell, it was a dump

The location is great. The hotel itself clean, but not well maintained. We were on the second floor, the balcony sags in many places, the roof above in certain areas looks like it’s coming down. Burned out lightbulbs in the bathroom, toilet cover cracked, poor water pressure, shower head leaks and sprays water sideways. Couple of homeless people hang out on the sidewalk and plug their phones in next to the ice machine. Free breakfast was at the hotel next door, much better shape, but the breakfast was way on the cheap side. The place needs a total restoration to regain its prior beauty.

This place was unexpectedly fun. Though older and not in the least sterile it exudes charm and character. The Villa Rose is a true gem in the heart of the Santa Barbara beach scene. I could have easily and happily stayed there several more days!

That was without a doubt the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. The guests above us started having a party at 2AM that lasted till 4 AM, with noise continuing sporadically afterward.
