“The place is way beyond our expectations. It truly has notable character and somewhere I would prefer to “gate-keep” from others by not leaving a review to tell others about how much we enjoyed it. However, I had to leave a review because Susana and the staff at this property were above and beyond. The property is extremely clean and well-maintained, plus it is very original and has great uniqueness. The area is peaceful and quiet, and promotes a great experience just outside of Santiago. “Historical and calm place near the Cathedral. A wonderful experience to stay here for one night!”

“Definitely a "grand" hotel. Reception desk staff were friendly, nice pool, free on-site parking, bottle of wine in the room was a nice touch as well as the shuttle to/from town. The bartender does not serve tap water which we thought unusual as every other hotel we stayed at has always been happy to serve us a glass of water (not paid for).”

“The property was clean and well maintained. It was within walking distance to all the major attractions in the city. The breakfast buffet of 12euro was expensive compared to other places in the area. Otherwise a nice place to stay.”

“The property is a beautifully updated historic structure. They have retained the charm. The bar/restaurant was excellent, outdoor dining was lovely, beds were comfy, room was spacious, and staff were helpful and unobtrusive. Taxi service to Santiago de Compostela was available but a bit pricey. If you have a car, parking is plentiful. I would stay again!”

“There is no front desk and no staff other than cleaning staff (very nice). They didn’t answer any of my email s with advance questions. However, the codes worked at 3 pm for check in, so it was fine. Make sure you phone is charged because you can’t get the code in advance.”

I have a lingering suspicion that those that answer the messages ( text, messenger, what’s app..etc) don’t relay the information to front end staff and communication is muddled. For instance their description says shuttle from airport. I’m guessing it had a different meaning in Spain.. that’s fine . They did have a taxi ready for me. Also had to send me a code as my plane arrived after 10 pm. Again the code was not as sent and actually passersby suggested adding an……
