The hosts went above and beyond for my partner and I, providing vegan friendly breakfasts and an alternative to milk for our tea & coffees. The building is very clean and tidy with everything you would need for a peaceful few days by the sea. We highly recommend staying here and will be suggesting it to family and friends if they ever go that way. Thank you Jo and Rob for the lovely stay.
Exceptionally well organised and very Covid secure. Lots of attention to detail whether this be procedures for ensuring you have everything you need or the coordination of the decor. The breakfasts are large, well cooked and lots of choice. Ordering the night before and an allocated time means everything is cooked to order without a wait. Very friendly and helpful owners.
We booked as we were due to go to a concert, which has been postponed 😟 however we decided still to visit as only an hour from where we live, so glad that we did as we had a lovely break together, away from the daily chores.
The Cavendish is a lovely small hotel, B&B situated in a wide street that leads to the esplanade and spa area of Scarborough.
The hotel was clean, with the usual en suite facilities within the room. Due to Covid restrictions, the room was not serviced during our stay, but that suited us fine. If we needed anything for the room we were asked at breakfast, and it was left outside our room door.
Good choice of breakfast to be ordered the evening before, beautifully cooked and served on lovely hot plates.
Rob and Jo the proprietors have got it spot on, we hope to return sometime in the future.
Just returned from a lovely 5 night break at The Cavendish. Our hosts Jo and Robert were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was really clean, comfortable and spacious, and with very clear guidelines on keeping safe at this present time, with staggered breakfast times and hand sanitiser points. You can tell they love what they do and go out of their way to keep guests happy.Thankyou Jo and Rob for your hospitality and not forgetting the yummy breakfasts :)
What a wonderful stay we had, from checking in with us before we arrived to check out, Jo and Rob could not have done anything else for us. Everything we needed was available either in the room or by contacting Jo and Rob who delivered items to our door.
A truly fantastic stay and without a doubt we’ll be back again
We really enjoyed our stay. Social distancing not a problem, everywhere was really clean, hosts very friendly. The family room was liggt, airy and very spacious. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful woth wide range of options, child friendly, location excellent. We couldn't fault anything. Our only hiccup on arrival was finding out they wouldn't normally provide towles for children. They soon responded and provided towle for our 2 but we didnt see it anywhere that thats not normally the case, had we known we would of taken our own. But absolutely value for money and a great place to stay
The people who run it are very friendly , and welcoming.. the room I stayed in was perfect very clean and tidy, and the bed was just right . The lady that cleaned my room and helped with breakfast ,was always. cheerful. The food was very good , this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in , no hesitation about staying here again.
Just perfect in every way. Fabulous breakfast, super comfortable bed and lots of little extras in the room.
Robert and Joanne go the extra mile in hosting and then some!!!
Lovely hotel. Not too far from town centre. On local bus route so easy to walk or ride.
Breakfast excellent, lovely fresh fruit which was varied and delicious and a choice of cold or cooked items. Porridge especially delicious.
Arrived very early and was allowed into rooms sit was ready.
Staff pleasant and helpful.
B&B had a large room, on street parking and good breakfast. It's in an area near a few other B&Bs and about a 20 min walk from the centre of Scarborough. The B&B's decor is slightly dated but this shouldn't put anyone off. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
I stayed at The Cavendish on a recent visit to Scarborough. My room was very clean, the breakfast was great, and the owners couldn't of been more friendly and helpful. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the town centre and the railway station.
The Cavendish is ace, I stayed there for Scarborough Tattoo Show & the building it's self is charming & has an old English cosiness to it, never feel claustrophobic, just very homey.
I'm an annoying vegan & was fully catered for, with the owners going above & beyond what Id expect from a major hotel, let alone a small family run B&B
Jo and Robert and their staff made for a very pleasant stay, the full English breakfast was very tasty and filled you up for the day.
Bear in mind that Scarborough is infamous for it's nesting Kittiwakes (they are all over the place) and these birds can be quite raucous at all times of the day/night, apart from that the Hotel was very homely and comfortable.
I will be staying here if and when I visit Scarborough in the future and I highly recommend this establishment.
Very welcoming and nice place to be. Staff were very friendly and the whole, place is well looked after. Room was big and clean, shower was good and the breakfast was excellent with gluten free options available.
Our stay was very pleasant. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The choice of tea, coffee and biscuits was also excellent. Breakfast was also to be commended. The owners, Jo and Rob were very pleasant. My only disappointment was when having checked out but returned to collect the car saw Rob and asked if I could use their facilities. He declined stating that the rooms had been cleaned and endeavoured to direct me to the nearest public convenience and wished me a good journey
