The location is special in the old town of Scilla. The hotel room with a small balcony and seaview was special. My only complaint about La Locanderia is the poor communication. From the moment we paid for the accommodation (2 months prior) we had asked where we could park our car but they never responded even when I communicated in Italian. When we arrived in our car we knew we had to leave our car parked outside the ZTL area and we called the hotel who came to collect us in their Ape. The driver told us our car was parked legally and we could leave it there. Unfortunately when we returned to our car we found an infringement notice. We have tried contacting the hotel since and of course there is no response. I can’t understand why the driver didn’t explain to us that the location was not permissible as we would have loved it to another location.

FALSE ADVERTISING – NO POOL We booked this property specifically because the Expedia listing states in multiple places that it has an outdoor pool. This was extremely important to us because my husband has back problems and swimming is part of the physical therapy he needs while traveling. When we arrived, there was no staff on site and we had difficulty getting in because we were not given adequate check-in instructions. We searched the property for the pool and finally contacted them through WhatsApp. We were told there is no pool at all. I immediately sent screenshots showing that Expedia clearly advertises an outdoor pool. They never responded. The problems continued. The Wi-Fi instructions provided were incorrect, we could never connect, and our requests for help were ignored. Laundry service/facilities are also advertised. When I asked about them, I was told to ask staff during the day—yet we never saw any staff. This isn't about an amenity being temporarily unavailable. The advertised pool simply does not exist. Had the listing been accurate, we would never have booked this property. Very disappointing and completely unacceptable.

A very mixed bag. The location is amazing and we had an incredible view from our balcony. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The issue is with the service. I messaged multiple times before arriving to ask for help arranging a transfer from the station. I got no response. There was nobody at the reception when I came to check in (or ever). The hotel was advertised as having a pool. It does not have a pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the terrible service took the gloss off

NO RECOMENDABLE.
