We were here in October 2017. Hotel was nice, had a shared kitchen that we didn't use. Can walk to a few restaurants nearby. There was a hot tub that was shared as well. We only stayed one night so we didn't try it out. It was a little difficult to find the place, and once we did we weren't sure about the parking situation. But we figured it out. The place was nice and clean. Would stay here again.

The hotel was haunted. Lots of nose at night. Wind howling through the cracks in the window. Machine in common area making noise all night. Didn't sleep well.

Nice guesthouse walking distance to downtown
Really enjoyed our stay. Parking out front, wonderful front desk staff, large room with tv and balcony. Great value and super clean.

Guesthouse Garun best value stopover
Considering value for money Guesthouse Garun was the best place we stayed in Iceland and we stayed in 2 other guesthouses and 2 hotels. Facilities and comfort were excellent.

Hands down, Best place we stayed in Iceland!!
We first went to the other guesthouse but then the owner was kind enough to personally come pick us up. Then we were checked into our room which was nice & spacious. The bathroom were shared but were in immaculate condition. It rather felt like home than a hotel. The host is super awesome. She even did the laundry for us & when I went to pay, she said it was on the house. The guesthouse offers a fully equipped kitchen. This place combines a hotel & AirBnB. The host go above & beyond to make you feel comfortable. We stayed in quite a few places in Iceland but this is the best of all. Highly recommended!

Good location, nice room
Very nice staff. The room is big clean. beds are comfortable. They have a kitchen down stair that you can use and store food tin the fridge I wish they have more place to hang clothes/ jacket. We are there November so we have more layers The bathroom need to have some hooks for hanging towel... Overall it is a very good room

A MUST STAY!!
Room was big for 2 people, and great for the price you pay. The receptionist (forgot her name) was super nice, attentive, and helpful with any questions. Would definitely stay again should I come to Iceland later.

Perfect Stay
Excellent property. Clean and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Excellent service from the owner as well as staff. Wonderful hot tub to enjoy in the evening. Very central location in Selfoss and Selfoss is very central to visit destinations in Southwest Iceland. Highly recommended.

A fantastic place to stay. The staff go out of their way to accommodate you. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodations are spotless and very well maintained. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Guesthouse Garun
The guesthouse was clean, comfortable and in a local neighborhood in Selfoss. There was a kitchen you could use to cook your meals, store your produce, beverages. Sigrid was most welcoming as a host and gave us a thorough tour of the property. Wifi was very fast and tv had had all kinds of international stations. The beds were very comfortable. The guesthouse is great value as the hotels will charge you twice as much for an over night!

a very good guesthouse. Modern place. Very big rooms & a well equipped kitchen. great location in Selfoss. we arrived late at night at the check-in was perfect (fast & friendly). I had some problem with the shower cleanliness. We arrived late and one of the showers was dirty. I also didn't like the nylon curtain. The next day I found out that the shower in the first floor is great!!

A hidden gem
Lovely guesthouse with very nice clean private rooms and shared bathrooms. Upon first arrival, the lady at the front desk took us on a short tour of the building, pointing out the many amenities like the hot tub, kitchen, greenhouse patio, laundry area etc. So friendly and welcoming. This was one of the best accommodations we stayed in the whole time we were in Iceland. I absolutely recommend!

A gem of a guesthouse
Guesthouse Garun was very nice. It was bright, modern and clean. It had a hot tub (that we opted not to use in the cold rain) and a picturesque greenhouse perfect for morning coffee. The kitchen area allowed for cooking and storing cold foods in a fridge labeled with your room number.

The guest house was new, quiet, and friendly. Easy walking to restaurants and supermarkets. Shared w/can and showers nice, accessible and available. Coffee only made in the AM although a pot and makings available to make your own. Kitchen area was well equipped. Very nice place.

Very nice guesthouse. The owner greeted us herself and was super helpful. The room was large and well appointed, very modern. There was a hot tub and a lovely outdoor glass house for guests to use. Very friendly place.

Clean and spacious bedroom (at least the one I had) and well-equipped kitchen. Good value with several grocery options nearby. The hot tub is a nice bonus if like me you weren't able to make it to one of the thermal baths. There is a city pool at the end of the street that I didn't have a chance to visit but hear its quite nice.

Even the late check-in was a smooth process. We got to experience the hot tub at 9:45 PM. The kitchen is furnished with all the necessary supplies. The bedroom was perfect and shared bathroom was also very clean. Overall excellent experience and I felt like being at home. A grocery shop (Bonus) is a 3mins drive, and you can find good hike around Hveragerdi hot spring.

Totally recommended!
Very nice guesthouse that exceeded our expectation! Owner is very friendly, the place is super ultra clean with a fully equipped kitchen that guest can use. You can even use the outdoor jacuzzi! 5 mins drive to supermarket. We will definitely be back if we visit Selfoss again!

Adorable guesthouse near shopping and restaurants. The woman at the desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was a good size with nice windows and there is a hottub outside to use. I would definitely stay here again.

Reasonably priced, quite nice hotel.
Everything was fine. The room was clean, there were good facilities to prepare food. The room was of a good size and the bathroom was good. The only thing was a lack of soap and shampoo in the shower. It's kind of an odd omission. Otherwise, it's a pretty solid place to stay :)
