It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by. "Staff were incredibly attentive and nice. Even with the language barrier they went above and beyond using Google Translate to explain the courses of our dinners and breakfasts, as well as information about the town. The hotel was slightly out of town (15mins walk) but they have a shuttle that was basically on demand. We wanted to go into town for the night and they dropped and picked us up at our desired time. "One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended! Everything was thoughtfully done and well maintained. The onsite onsen was beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor bathing areas. The traditional Japanese dinners and breakfasts were wonderful experiences, served in a private dining room and featuring multiple courses, including crab. The rooms were spotless, and the central garden created a tranquil focal point that could be enjoyed from the lobby lounge area and seen from our traditional room. We stayed a couple of nights, and would easily return again."

"Our group of 4 adults had a wonderful stay here. The location is excellent, close to shopping, restaurants and the other public onsens. There is a shuttle that you can take to visit the other onsens (free). The hotel’s onsite onsen was very nice as well..lots of amenities like shampoo and facial cleansers and creams to wash up before and after the onsen use. While the hotel is a little dated, the excellent service, comfy futons, and delicious Japanese style breakfasts and dinners make up for it. Be sure to have dinner at the hotel…the dining experience is delightful with the well-prepared and beautifully presented multi courses. Each course was a work of art as well as delicious and filling. The staff were incredibly attentive, polite and welcoming. We had two older adults in our group who were finding it difficult to get up and down from the Japanese style floor futons. The hotel does have some rooms with Western style beds but they were booked. So the staff offered to bring in a platform for my two older aunties which raised their beds higher off the floor. That made a huge difference and there was no charge for this service. On our last day, they drove us to the train station with their hotel shuttle, free of charge. I offered to pay even with a tip but they kindly refused. What a wonderful stay and a great experience. I highly recommend this hotel and I won’t hesitate to stay here again."

"We stayed in a prong room with a small terrace which was great to look over the street and people watch. Very quiet and relaxed hotel. The room was perfectly clean and presented. Such a lovely check in from staff who helped so much with our lack of Japanese. The private bath was great. Excellent location, only across the road for a couple of onsen. Map and guidance on yukata given. Would definitely stay again."

"This hotel was an amazing one night stay. We had a outside Onsen room. It was so relaxing for my husband and I to use. The bathroom shower was spa like. All the hair & face products I loved. The PJ'S to relax in has made me want to purchase a pair while in Japan. I would stay here again. We did not purchase the food package and I will tell you for dinner in Amanohashidate they had 3 dinner choices. One restaurant that we couldn't get into, Ramen that was yummy that we ahd for lunch and a pizza place that was a 20 min taxi ride each way. Pizza was not a cheap dinner once you had the taxi ride into it. That was my only compliment about this town was dinner options. Everything closed really early around 5pm."

"The room was spacious but placement of putting the luggage’s was difficult because of the design of the room. Staff was nice enough to send a message that I had left my phone charger and was kind enough to send it to my next hotel in Osaka, of course with a small fee. The onsen in the hotel was nice that I could use it for myself for 45 min. The pass from the hotel allowed us to use other nearby onsens as well."

"A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself. A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
