2 bedroom duplex unit (sleeps 5)

Prime location - only 100m to Shoal Bay beachfront, cafes and shops
Suitable for families, couples or groups (and wheelchair accessible) - including our 4 legged friends!
Off street parking for one vehicle (sorry no trailer or boat parking)
Total internal area 56 square metres (excluding covered deck 6m x 3m)
Bedroom 1 : Queen bed, radiator, electric blanket
Bedroom 2 : Double bed and single bed (together as bunks), radiator, electric blankets
Large outside covered living and dining deck area (6m x 3m)
Doggie friendly for trained pooches - leash free beaches are close too!
Up to 2 small dogs allowed, but only one large dog allowed. If in doubt please send us an enquiry. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE BRINGING A DOG WHEN YOU BOOK.

Shoal Bay Retreat is a duplex house of 2 x 2 bedroom units. This Unit 2 sleeps 5 guests (and it is wheelchair accessible) and see listing for Unit 1 (sleeps 4) if you have a larger group of up to 9. (If you have problems finding and booking Unit 1 and Unit 2 together - please send us a message for us to assist).

Being so close to the beach it’s the ideal place to leave your car and walk to the beach and activities. At night Shoal Bay beachfront is alive with great restaurants and pubs - especially the famous Country Club - just a few minutes walk away.

Or rent a bike. e-bike or tandem only 70m away to explore from Fingal to Nelson Bay and beyond...

Cosy unit within walking distance of the beach

The unit was clean, comfortable and filled with all the essentials needed for a short to medium length stay. I contacted the owner about a small issue and he was extremely receptive and polite. The deck was nicely sheltered for our dog so he stayed dry even during the rainy night. Would highly recommend this unit for families or couples travelling with a well behaved dog.

We loved out weekend away, the house is dog friendly, clean and has large bed rooms rooms with a big ipen plan kitchen, lounge & dinning. Big deck with BBQ we felt at home and would go back.

Dog friendly

Our Labrador loved this accomodation and so did we. Really relaxing, can’t beat the location, beds were clean and comfortable and bathroom very clean also. Visiting Bagnalls Beach (about 10 minute drive) which is dog off leash 24/7 is a must. Would love to come back

Shoal bay tetreat

Good setup of an old house divided into 2. We’ll set out and fitted out. Very comfortable and great position. Only complaint not being able to access drive. There looked to be plenty of room to accommodate 2 cars.

What a gem

This would have to be one of the best dog friendly stays we’ve had. Bryan was very easy to communicate with, answering questions promptly. The duplex was very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. The fully enclosed verandah was very comfortable and was perfect if we needed to leave the dogs while going out. Being only a block from the beach, shops and cafes was the icing on the cake. Will definitely be back.

Best stay in Shoal Bay

Such a comfortable unit with everything you need to make an enjoyable break away. The deck is a great place to start the day with breakfast or drinks and dinner. With a gate on the deck it’s the perfect place for your dog to keep you company while you’re relaxing. The location couldn’t be better as it’s such a short walk to the beach, close enough for a pre-breakfast swim and the strip with restaurants, cafes and bars.

A fantastic find

We had a fantastic stay at Bryan’s property. The house is clean, well-equipped and so conveniently located. We really appreciated also being able to bring along our furry family member. Bryan was great to communicate with and very accomodating. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

Cute and beachy with everything you need for you and your pooch.

I loved the furnishings and the style. They even had fairy lights on the balcony. The main bed was fabulous and very comfortable. It was close to the beach and shops and everything else like Fingal Bay, Nelson Bay and Anna Bay. The best beach for 24/7 off leash dog beach is Bagnall. We had a terrific time. Thanks!
