This place was absolutely beautiful! It’s secluded at the end of a road and was perfect for a peaceful weekend. The house is stocked with everything you would need for a trip. Perfect place for a family and friends getaway

Comfortable, clean, and convenient home for gather of my daughters to spend time together and enjoy some shopping. Home was all we could ask for, and hope to stay there next year.

Family fun

We were 6 adults and a toddler. This was a perfect location in a quiet beautiful wooded area just minutes from the beach and shops and restaurants. The house is clean and well stocked with comfy beds , games for indoors and out and plenty of space to hang out together. We had a great time reconnecting.

A little piece of true tranquility

We had an amazing stay here. From the toys and books for the kids to the screened in porch where you can just listen to the whispering wind in the trees or have coffee and breakfast in the morning, staying here was the first time I've felt truly refreshed by a vacation in quite some time. The property is beautiful and secluded and it feels like a home that has been loved and cared for. We always felt welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Annual Door County family vacation

This was our second stay at Hinterhaven and enjoyed our time here just as much as on our visit last year. Wendy and Paul are phenomenal hosts and very responsive. Their home is beautiful and the property is situated in a stunning setting. The kitchen was very well stocked and the house is very nicely decorated. We especially enjoyed the screen porch on nights when it was raining or a bit chilly.

A Victorian Dream Home

From the minute we pulled into this gorgeous home until our stay ended was a dream! The home was immaculate, beautifully decorated and welcoming! Tonya was a delight to work with and made us so comfortable. It’s a 5 minute ride to Ephraim or Sister Bay so could grab a bite a catch a sunset with ease. My sister and nieces walked the country roads everyday, so peaceful. I cannot say enough good things about this property, a stay is a must! Thank you again!!!

Wonderful property

The house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of glasses and dishes for the 6 of us. Lots of room for us to spread out. It would be nice to have 6 chairs at the upstairs table. That is where we played games because it was the only table with a light over. The beds were upgraded to a king in the 1st floor bedroom and a queen and single in the 3rd bedroom, which was nice. A negative was the road to get to the house - it is gravel with potholes.

this property had a cute front porch plus enclosed patio; very well-stacked kitchen; appreciated that one bedroom / attached bath was on first floor; decore was cute; bedrooms on second floor were cozy (small) but sufficient; had written instructions on how to use tv on second floor ( something seldom found in other rentals and greatly appreciated ( though did not use tv) ; only caveats for elderly or those with mobility issues: stairs to second floor are somewhat steep: bedroom/hall a/cs worked well for the 70+ weather we had

Great stay for a long weekend. Loved the location- easy access to Peninsula State Park as well as downtown Sister Bay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Loved sitting on the screen porch!

Two family getaway

We stayed at the Hinter Haven with our two young children, brother and sister in law and nephew. The property was set back in a quiet area, with lots of room to play in the yard with games from their well supplied shed. We so appreciated the well stocked kitchen and the books and toys in the family room (if we go back, I will save the space and not pack our own 😊). My grandfather was Norwegian so the Ole and Lena joke books ans Lefse tools brought a big smile!

Gorgeous and Private Door County Home

This house was perfect for our family visit to see relatives in Door County. Communication with the host was easy and we received prompt responses to any questions.
