“We had a lovely short stay in this attractive stone pub with lots of character.. The location is perfect for Lancaster and the University nearby. The rooms are of a high standard and very clean. Food was good and staff pleasant and helpful. The lovely garden at the back was ideal for a relaxing pre dinner drink. Thank you, we will definitely recommend to our friends!”

“Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below……

“Booked it as we were in the middle of a heatwave, Advertised with Air conditioning, Blatant lie sadly. it doesn't exist. 'We cant issue a refund' Need to speak to OVO. OVO have no clue what they're doing, money lost, lesson learnt. Moved to next hotel same night.”

“Didn't get a blanket for the sofa bed as requested, soap dispenser broken in shower, sofa not very comfortable, breakfast cutlery was dirty, tables not clean during breakfast, even though asked a lady to clean a table please, but didn't.”

“First time staying, lovely and clean, rooms are lovely. We are from their lunch menu, cant fault the quality of the food. Breakfast was lovely. Great choice of options. All in all, a great stay.”

“Lovely hotel / pub in a very scenic location. Beautiful views. We had 2 cottages for our extended family group of 7 adults/ 4 children. Spent the afternoon enjoying the patio drinks and watching the water flow. Had a delicious Sunday dinner in the lovely upper dining room. Beds were comfortable and had everything we needed . Would definitely stay again .”
