This was a very comfortable cabin, centrally located to many attractions including Soda Springs Mountain adventure. The kitchen was stocked. A couple of observations were that the bedroom upstairs with the twin beds was very cold. We placed a portable heater to make it warm as it did not appear to have its own heating source despite a heating unit on the floor. Also, the shower tub sprayed water to far that you can tell there was water damage on the paint and the tub was cracked. Despite these, we would consider staying a this place again.
Garage smaller than expected. Car couldn’t go in. Steps are covered in snow. We need to clean ourselves to make path.

Terrible Experience - No Running Water
We arrived to find *no running water* and no firewood. There were dog poop bags full of poop on the garage floor right where we stepped out of our car.
Additionally it was impossible to turn the heat down below 71.
We tried to reach the property management company but got a vague reply several hours later when we were asleep. They never followed up or replied. You'd think lack of running water would be a high priority issue.
We had an awful experience
I want to discourage people from renting from this property management company "Vacasa". This is the last time I give money to VRBO or Vacasa. Terrible.
Overall, our stay went well. The house was definitely rustic. And there was a terrible smell in the downstairs bathroom. When we were leaving at the end of our stay, we were heading out through the garage and I noticed a big hole in the drywall on the ceiling, right where the bathroom was above. So, probably something was going on, like a leak.
The beds were pretty comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of cooking utensils and staples like salt and pepper, etc. There were games, TVs and plenty of spaces for us to spread out. I even had an online class that I did upstairs in the loft area.
There were no explanations about the wall heating units in the upstairs bedroom, but we figured it out. A binder with some information would have been helpful. Not sure if maybe that was online, but I looked.
There were some difficulties with getting into the house, since the snow was piled up high -- both in the driveway and in front of the door we were supposed to enter to get into the house (leading to the garage). We couldn't use the stairs up to the front door since it was not shoveled and there was literally 6-8 feet of snow up there.
I'm not blaming the property for the snow, obviously! But, the driveway for this house was one of the only ones on the street that hadn't been plowed, which was a bummer. I called the property management group and mentioned it and they said they'd take care of it. When we were out the next day skiing, the driveway was plowed.

Nice place
We loved this location in the Sierra Nevada Range. Quiet yet access to skiing as well as snowshoeing and cross country activities. House was spotless and it is a great layout for a family to relax in.
This cabin is wonderful located and very comfortable. The beds are wonderful.
When we arrive, the stove top was shattered. We notified the management company, but they have no information on prior guests. It seems like something we could have found out before we arrived. There was another stovetop in the basement, so the company likely knew but did not communicate it to us.

Wasn’t as pictured
There were several problems with this property.
The garbage was already full upon arrival so we had to leave garbage bags by bin. ( I emailed Vacasa , but no reply). . A burner on the stove was broken. The rug was torn and was taped from living space to kitchen. You couldn’t take showers at the same time, hot water ran out! Upstairs bath surround was peeling off.
I had an expectation that fell short!
Also, even though there was a huge amount of wood in garage, we were asked to bring our own!?!
I feel that this property hadn’t been reviewed by VRBO or VACASA prior to putting it for rent.

Wonderful Stay amidst Snow and Trees
We and our 7 year old kids really enjoyed our stay in March and hope to come back. The house has amazing kids sledding between the trees right out the back. WiFi and cell signal was strong and allowed us to take work meetings with video and stream movies. While Serene Lakes is known for some very fancy villas, this house is comparatively less updated -- which actually feels a bit more home-y, cabin-y and fitting for a weekend with simple fun in the snow. It's a good deal, especially with the right expectations. The house was nicely cleaned and the service (aside from Vacasa being hard to reach) was above and beyond. Here is an example: Even though the listing noted to source firewood for the (nice) stove ourselves, we asked if they could provide some for us. They not only did this complimentary, but also stacked it nicely for us in the basement.
