What a treat to stay in a Scottish castle. It was located in a very convenient place for our visit. As we didn't have time to visit St Andrews the food and drink provided in the en suite kitchen for the breakfast were much appreciated. We enjoyed the short walk to Dunino church.

I was in Scotland for 17 days, and this was my favorite hotel due to its uniqueness and the hospitality of the owner. I only wish I was able to stay longer than one night! The place is easiest reached via a car, but you can get there via a bus. (I was traveling without a car.).

The room was adorable and the grounds were amazing. The greater dog was so sweet. Everything was clean and organized and we had a great time. Only confusing part was to ring the doorbell to check in. A modern doorbell was hard to see on a beautiful old building :)

This is a difficult to review. The owners are so kind and friendly, the room was large and opened to the garden which is lovely.
However, the room itself was very musty, I instantly filled up, had a sore throat, then got a headache. We stayed two nights, so I purchased my own pillows, opened up the garden door for a couple hours and slept better the second night.
My husband was not bothered by the smell. For me, it was awful. Had I seen recent reviews advising of this, I wouldn’t have chosen to stay here.
If you are not bothered by musty smells, everything else was fine. I am sensitive to odours.
