I fell in love with this property from the moment I walked in! If you are looking for something with a little funky character, yet beautifully updated and modern, then this is the best place on Vilano Beach. This home was so much more than I expected when I looked at the pictures online, and packs a much bigger punch than you would expect when you consider the price. The outside of the home doesn't do the inside justice. There was so much room here, and each room was beautifully renovated. To help you understand the flow of the home, if you walk into the bottom level, there is a kitchen, eating area, a small living room, a half bath and a wonderfully funky deck that we enjoyed each morning and evening. Up the spiral staircase are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a nice sized living room. There are really 2 master bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom and each having access to another very nice porch on the second floor. From the second floor porch, you can access a third floor porch, which has pretty views. While some new construction right in front of the home has made the ocean view a little less visible, the house truly is only 60 steps away from the beach. Crossing the road to the beach access was very easy, and the road was not as busy as it can be at some other beaches. We were there over a weekend, and the beach was not crowded at all, likely because there is no public beach parking close by. The owner, John, was great to work with! I had several questions, and he responded quickly and was very helpful. The house was wonderfully equipped, with absolutely everything you would want to have, with the exception of shampoo, soap in the shower and of course, fresh food in the refrigerator (although there was bottled water and some condiments when we stayed there). John also had some boogie boards, beach chairs and surf boards available at the home for you to take to the beach. I've never stayed in a VRBO that was so well equipped. There is also a new Publix grocery store just a few minutes down the road, so it is very easy to get anything you need. It was also very easy to get to St. Augustine from the house, and we found that the home was wonderfully located for a relaxing beach stay, yet close enough to the attractions that you didn't have to drive far. One thing I know for sure is that the next time I go to Vilano Beach, I am going to be contacting John about staying in his house again!
