The Big Picture: covered all the based

Our second time at this property and we loved it as much as the first time. Screened, Covered pool was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone. Only thing we missed is that there isn’t a big dining table where we could all sit down and eat together

Ditch the Beach, Stay on the Bay

Wonderful home!

Our stay at The Big Picture was everything we could have asked for. Plenty of space, easy checkin, immaculately clean and very responsive management. We never went to the beach in the neighborhood, but enjoyed plenty of pool time. The weather was unbelievably hot, but the AC system worked well and staying inside was the perfect place to cool down. Very quiet and off the beaten path. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Plantation on St. George Island! We came to town for a family wedding and this was by far the perfect - out of town - location to stay during the down times.The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. It’s clear the owners take great pride in keeping the property in top shape.The location truly immerses you in the charm of island marsh life — peaceful water views, beautiful birds, and abundant local wildlife make it easy to unwind and appreciate nature at its best.As noted in the listing, all (but one) the beds are queens — a bit snug for taller guests like us, but certainly not a dealbreaker! Just something to keep in mind if you’re above average height.The island itself is wonderfully quiet and laid-back — perfect for anyone seeking rest and relaxation. It’s not a place for nightlife or constant activity, but rather for slowing down, soaking up the scenery, and simply enjoying the peace.We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil coastal escape!

We enjoyed the access to nature that the home provided. We brought our bikes and paddleboards and spent our vacation exploring the neighborhood. Excellent stay. Well equipped with baby gear - utensils, pack and play, black out shades, high chair and baby gates. Very short walk to the beach and even shorter bike ride. We will definitely be back!

Nice place to relax

We have stayed here 3 times and have enjoyed it. The house is big enough for our party but has several areas where you can enjoy peaceful solitude if you want. It is located on the bay side and provides an excellent view. The beach is not far away and the bike / pedestrian trails are great. Recommend having bicycles to see the entire Plantation.

Family getaway

The house and pool were just perfect for our family to get away together during this pandemic. My husband and I and our two adult children and their families needed some beach time and fun together. The house is very beautiful and comfortable and grandchildren ages 15-8 loved the pool. Great access to beach which was perfect for being able to stay apart. Just was a little disappointed with the cleaning that should have been done during this time. We brought plenty of disinfectant though to be safe

A great experience

This is our second year renting this property. We love everything about the house and pool! The house is beautiful and welcoming. The improvements to the dock made our kayaking easier. The weather was so pleasant. We spent many hours relaxing on the screened-in porches, decks, and around the pool. The kitchen is a well-stocked dream. Our family has been somewhat separated due to the Covid-19 virus. It was very nice being able to see one another for a week.

The house has great amenities, we love the open family space but also the privacy of the bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Beautiful views from every deck/corner, and easy access to the beach. When we arrive, we bring groceries from off the island and eat all meals at the house, the kitchen is great and inviting. Wonderful SGI memories being built here. Just like last year, already looking at calendars to plan our return visit.

A Happily Situated House

Our stay at The Big Picture was awesome! This house is so well thought out and beautifully decorated for a family vacation. There are conveniences on every floor. Both sets of our parents were with us. They appreciated the ease of using the elevator. The kitchen/pantry area was great. There was plenty of room for all of our food. Our favorite place was the screened-in pool area. We enjoyed the swim-out areas in the pool. The patio furniture was very comfortable. The fans made a pleasant breeze for chilling out or reading. We also enjoyed kayaking in the bay. All in all, I'd borrow a phrase from Jane Austen in describing the house... It is very happily situated!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We visited SGI for the first time this past July. And we had 5 adults and 3 children with us. We loved every minute of this vacation the house is immaculate, but kid friendly. The owners have every accommodation you can think of available to you. And Jamie was on call as needed to answer our questions as needed. We've only been gone a month and already trying to plan our return visit. In a week visit we never left SGI and we barely left the house unless to visit the beach or get ice cream mid afternoon. Truly heaven on earth.
