"Larry and Linda are very knowledgeable in providing tips to the local area. Larry used to be the Mayor of Hermann and councilman at the county level. The upstairs bedroom with onsuite bath was charming, spacious, and comfortable. However, if you are tall or overweight the upstairs is probably not a good choice as the steps are steep but they have other very nice rooms with beautiful screened in terrasse. The stone house is definitely a jewel decorated very much in the Germanic theme, bringing back many fond memories of my time in German."

"This place felt like a hidden gem and oasis in Hermann.💎The property is beautiful, unique, and full of charm.🏡 Most rooms have private entrances and easy access to the courtyard, guests can enjoy nightly live music, a fire pit with s’mores, and a wonderful, chill atmosphere.🎶🔥🍫 As a bonus, you can even feed graham crackers to the friendly bunnies who roam the grounds - a great photo opportunity. 🐰 What truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality from Brandt, the property manager.😊 We were celebrating our first anniversary, and he surprised us with an upgrade from a standard queen room to a king whirlpool suite, making our visit to Hermann even more memorable.❤️ We had mistakenly assumed breakfast was included with our two-night stay, but later learned that it’s only complimentary for stays of three nights or more. It wasn’t a big deal-we simply missed the fine print. However, the next morning, Brandt knocked on our door and let us know he had prepared breakfast for us anyway, apologizing for the confusion. Not only did we receive a phenomenal breakfast that morning, but again on checkout day.🍽️ Brandt didn’t have to do that, but his kindness and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel truly valued and appreciated.🥰 Another nice touch they have at the Captain Wohlt Inn are their amazing fresh baked cookies given to you upon arrival and every day of your stay.🍪We highly recommend this place during your next visit to historic Hermann, MO!"

"The property was neat and clean. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good and better than most at other motel chains where we have stayed. There was a burned out bulb in a lamp, the digital readout on the clock was not functioning properly, and a window shade would not go up or down properly. These are small things that should have been caught by the housekeeping staff and corrected prior to us occupying the room. However, overall experience was very good and we would stay at the facility again."

"lol. Save yourself the money and just go somewhere else that actually may have the screen on your window… or hell maybe even a lock on the window to prevent somebody from crawling through it at night lol. We arrived and checked in early evening and first 2 people we saw around the property kinda set the tone. Only thing I can say positive about this place was the innocent nice ole lady worked the front counter. Bed sheets were stained, pillow cases stained, sticky floor, liquid ant killer in a “pet safe room”, no screen on windows, hair clumps from other people around the room, stinky bathroom, dirty towels and bugs galore. Bed had bugs under sheets and under pillows. Stained walls and ceiling. Smelt like a rusty piss bucket in there and I’m glad we didn’t stay. Absolutely disgusting and the guy who runs this place should be ashamed of himself"
