“There was a slight issue when we checked in as the information folder containing wifi codes etc was missing. But this was quickly resolved by contacting the owners, who were friendly and responded quickly to messages. Overall the accommodation was great, spacious and very quiet. But at the same time close to local facilities and transport. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.”

“We had a fabulous time. Great communication and welcome from owners. The apartment was beautiful, the decor, the outlook from sitting room window, with all the trees and birds. Kitchen was really well equipped and lovely touch of a cake, buscuits, milk, water and soft drinks. Beautiful products in bathroom and super comfy bed. We will definitely be back in the future. ”

“Very cozy cottage, well equipped, very quiet area. 5 min walk to a local pub - food and drink. Lots of small villages with local shops (bakers, butchers, delis, etc.) to explore close by. Lot of walking trails. Parking was easy. Check in and out were simply and without hassle.”

“Had a lovely stay in Smugglers cottage despite the wet weather but were very comfortable to stay inside when needed . Great location to all the amenities on offer in Dartmouth. Apartment very well equipped and modern . Shower a little difficult to adjust but maybe due to water pressure ? Perhaps an electric shower might help ? Will certainly be back again 😊”

“The only reason for the lower condition rating is the visible mould around the master bedroom window which needs remediation. The new wooden wardrobe in that room is currently unusable due to a strong musty smell. Aside from this, the barn is beautifully presented with many thoughtful details. The automated wooden gates provide access to private and ample parking, and the property is surrounded by open fields. Just outside the cottage there is a wooden table positioned to take in the……

“Our third stay at the Captain’s Cabin, spanning many years. Needed the hidden heater this visit after a first chilly night. It was all resolved the following day-thank you. Gorgeous views and delicious breakfast at Alf Rescoes highlights. Small but everything you need for a couple of nights. (Really draughty windows -could do with a bit of attention)”

“The location was brilliant. There was good equipment in the kitchen and the sitting room was comfortable with a great tv. Others have mentioned the water is a bit temperamental but it didn’t affect our stay. I think it could benefit from a deep clean. It wasn’t dirty but needed a bit more care. ”

“Home from home for us. Our fourth visit and not our last. Hattie loves playing ball in the field opposite. You can walk to Totnes easily from the cottage via Dartington and a straight route takes you there in hour! Love going to Nkuku and Riverford kitchen restaurant (book well in advance) even went to see a musician in Totnes (st Mary’s church) and Ashburton hall, amazing venues.Great stay, comfy bed and all the amenities you need to cook, thank you 🙏”
