Many attractions close by, Alton Towers (15 miles), Cannock Chase (10 miles), Trentham Monkey Trail (4 miles), Trentham Park and Gardens and Shrugborough Hall (10 miles) and of course the pottery giants such as Wedgewoods (4 miles), who's ancestral estate and factory shop is also not far away, for fine china lovers. Close to the Cheshire and Shropshire borders. The Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak district is also not far away and makes a nice day trip, particularly to Ashbourne, Ilam (25 miles) which is in the magnificent scenery of the Manifold valley with its Saxon roots and Swiss style cottages.
