“This is a very special hotel up in the mountains. They view is spectacular, the place is spotless, the beds are very comfortable, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. We loved staring out at the mountains while enjoying the breakfast buffet and then ending the day with a game in the lounge over dessert. It’s a great midway point between places to go in western Norway, like Briksdalbreen and Geiranger. There are also a number of small towns along the way if you……

“Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!”
