Penthouse Apartment in an 1890 Mansion

Penthouse Apartment on the top floor of the historic Blackwell Mansion with vaulted ceilings and great views of the Puget Sound. The bedroom features a king size bed. In the main living area, there is a queen size bed, dining table with seating for six, sofa with two accent chairs, TV with cable, a writing desk, full kitchen, bistro table, and a 1912 baby grand piano. NOTE: The apartment is at the top of three flights of stairs. The main level of the building is used for professional offices.

Historic Property

We really enjoyed our stay in one Tacoma’s historic properties. Large attic apartment with comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Many historic features of the house are preserved and there is much to explore inside. We especially enjoyed the pocket doors and curved glass windows.

The hot water in the tiny bathroom was a trickle, and we couldn't get hot water in the shower. The kitchen faucet also had no water pressure. Thankfully the shower in the other bathroom worked. The king bed was comfortable with nice linens. But the listing was misleading as it really isn't a two bedroom. It's a one bedroom with a second bed behind a folding screen in the living area. This was a great problem for our group with the complete lack of privacy.

Very historic with modern touches. The piano is a bonus. Stevie is a wonderful host. The view from the fourth floor is amazing. Left completely relaxed.

A really nice place to stay

My wife, son and I really enjoyed staying at the Blackwell Mansion. It's it a great location. We walked to a couple of excellent restaurants and took the streetcar to the Tacoma Dome. It was super easy to check in and the property was very clean. I highly recommend staying at the property.

Fantastic Place

This old mansion was a perfect out of the ordinary place to stay! It is a beautiful old house, it had all kinds of room and great views. It is in a perfect spot close to restaurants, a great little grocery store and Wright Park, also the T line stop is right by the house for getting around without having to drive or Uber. It had everything you need and I love the piano.

Excellent stay for a conference!

A group of 3 were attending a conference in Tacoma and this was the perfect place for us to stay. We arrived at different times and on different days, but it was easy for each of us to access the apartment. It's an open floorplan with plenty of space to spread out.

Very cool place

This place was awesome, views are stunning! It's big enough we could have had another couple with us. The travel crib being there was nice too. We stayed because it was close to the dragon boat festival but I'm glad we had some extra time to just hang out here.
