「Potato island was absolutely perfect for our family, and we had a fun, relaxing week long stay. The cottage is older..rustic but very clean and had everything needed for prepping food. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and peaceful, and we felt so mentally refreshed. The kids swam every day rain or shine, we went canoeing, read books, sat around the camp fire, played games, and the dogs had a blast running around the island. As an owner of three small dogs, this was a huge stress...

「What an adorable little cabin. Clean and well stocked. The water was shallow off the dock but we were able to use the paddle boards and kayaks provided to paddle out into the deeper water and do some fishing. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. This cabin is highly rated for a reason. Would definately recommend.」

「This property is neat and tidy. My family had a great time. A lot of wildlife to see. The solar lights and screened in eating area really made the nights so much better with the fire ban. We could still enjoy the outside and played games. The lake is so clean - we had little fish nibbling our ankles! Too weedy for us for swimming, but we all dipped in! Lounging and looking at the water was really peaceful. No complaints! Super private. Great hosts.」

「This was our first time stay here and it was a great experience. We had 12 adults there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We also had 4 boats and it was a little tight at the docks, but we were able to make it work. Very nice area. The water was a little rough at the docks over the weekend with all the boats going by. It did settle down during the week. You can tell they have been working on the house to improve it. 」

「This was a great space and perfect for our needs. The yurt was comfortable and the fire pit was great. Really awesome to have a nice table and grill and the hammock was comfortable. Good lights and drinkable water were plentiful. Will be back!」

「Online information false/misleading and the property is completely unsuitable for anyone with even minor mobility issues. I was booked for two nights but left after one and went to a motel. - notwithstanding what the website advertises, this cabin does NOT have a bathroom. A bathroom is available in the main house, 50 or so meters away. It is not separate from the host's living space (i.e. not private). To use the bathroom at night, you will need a flashlight (and an umbrella anytime it's...

「gorgeous place」

「Many reviews substantiate that Bedford Lake House is a 5 star property. Check-in, Facilities, Wi-fi, all first class. For our three-generation family of 7 including two young girls of 5 and 7 what made our stay so special. First, the view from the cottage over Devil Lake, the sunsets were amazing. Second, the flower and vegetable garden - where are young girls filled their buckets every day with ripe tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, peppers, beans, herbs, strawberries, beets .. the list goes on....

「Great communication with host. View onto the lake is stunning. Plenty of furniture outside to enjoy the view. Location is pretty central to Wendy’s Market, Elgin and Westport to stock up on groceries. House had all we needed (laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, clean towels/linens. AC was nice to have as it was hot during our stay. House was cleaned nicely for our arrival. 」
