Yehliu Geopark, also written as Yeh Liu Geopark, is the perfect getaway for those wanting to escape the busy streets of Taipei, if only for one day. Come as early as possible or stay until just before sunset to get the best light for your photos, with mother Earth's “Golden Hour” naturally enhancing the contrast and colors.

2. Jinbaoli Old Street

A sensory overload awaits when visiting the food stands and curios stores of Jinbaoli Old Street. 3. Zhongzheng Park

Zhongzheng Park is a vast area of scenic terrain on Dashawan Mountain overlooking the center of Keelung. Climb to the top of the hill to see its impressive Statue of Guanyin and enjoy a panoramic view of the city’s harbor. The park is appropriate for families, as there are fun activities for kids, such as bumper cars.

4. Statue of Guanyin

The Statue of Guanyin is among the largest statues of the deity in Southeast Asia. The gigantic white sculpture stands directly in front of a temple in the center of Zhongzheng Park. Admire the peaceful pose the goddess has been given, with her hands touching in the middle. She looks out toward the harbor to prevent mariners from drowning and to protect the city from attacks.

5. Queen's Head

Queen's Head is a sandstone formation on a rocky headland in Yehliu Fishing Harbor. While the headland is littered with odd-shaped rocks, this rock became famous because it used to closely resemble the portrait of a queen on the back of a coin.
