The facade of the Taal Basilica, the Minor Basilica of St Martin of Tours (the Patron Saint of Taal), Taal City, Batangas, Philippines (Apr 2018): though originally founded in the 1570s by the Augustinians, the church has been re-built or restored several times following eruptions of the Taal Volcano and earthquakes.

This Basilica was built in 1575 by Fr. Diego Espina. It was destroyed by volcanic eruption in 1754. Was rebuilt in 1755 to be again destroyed by an 1849 earthquake. Rebuilt in 1856 and knowned to be the biggest church in the East. #History
