Deichkoje 12 - Deck 2 with Eider view and sauna directly on the North Sea dike
On Deck 2 at Deichkoje 12—renovated in 2026—an exclusive vacation experience awaits you across two light-filled levels. Best View in Town: From one of the two balconies, enjoy your morning coffee and sundowner with a spectacular view over the dike to the mouth of the Eider River. Your personal wellness highlight: your very own sauna! Spanning 105 square meters with two separate, cozy bedrooms, Deck 2 offers plenty of space for up to 4 people—ideal for couples, friends, or family.
The apartment has a private entrance and is accessible via an outdoor staircase. It spans approximately 105 square meters across two light-filled levels and is furnished to a very high standard. The built-in kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, spices, oil, a fully automatic coffee machine, a refrigerator, a freezer, a premium Miele cooktop with a downdraft hood, a microwave, a kettle, and a toaster. On the lower level is the hallway with a coat closet, washing machine, and dryer; two separate bedrooms (Bedroom 1: 180 cm x 200 cm box-spring bed; Bedroom 2: 2 single box-spring beds, 90 x 200 cm), a bathroom with its own sauna (for up to 3 people), shower, and toilet, and a spacious combined living room with dining area and kitchen. There is a satellite TV with Netflix and a selection of board games and books. A staircase leads up to the loft, where there is a chill-out area with a fitness corner (Waterrover rowing machine and yoga mat) and access to the rooftop balcony with a panoramic view over the dike to the Eider River.
If you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled, and idyllic setting, our spot behind the dike is just right for you. Here, sheep, oystercatchers, and barnacle geese say good night to one another. A 10–15-minute walk along the dike takes you to the Tönning beach (a grassy area, not a sandy beach) with a great playground, beach chairs, and a few dining options. Right behind it is the outdoor swimming pool. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the picturesque, historic harbor of Tönning and the town center. There you’ll find restaurants, cafés, local shops, and places to shop—even on Sundays during the season. We highly recommend a visit to the Multimar Wattforum and a boat trip to the seal colonies. The “Katinger Watt” nature and bird sanctuary is only about 6 km away and offers numerous hiking trails. The Eider River barrier and the North Sea are just 7 km away. The lively town of Sankt-Peter-Ording—known as “Europe’s largest sandbox” with its expansive beaches—is only a 20-minute drive away. Other worthwhile destinations include the canal town of Friedrichstadt (13 km), the port city of Husum (20 km), the North Sea spa town of Büsum (20 km), and the North Frisian islands of Sylt and Amrum.
