This guest never showed up to the property and knowing that they could have cancelled before 6pm without penalty. Expedia allows people to put reviews even for those that don't show up and expect to get refunded without cancellation.

Unfortunately this guest could not get a refund because they booked a room did not stay and did not cancel. The host and Expedia will usually work with a guest to assist but the guest has to cancel if they are not staying

This guest never stayed with us. The wanted to cancel at the very last minute the night of their check in. Their review is based on their failure to get refunded from Expedia and not on a review of the property.

The person who did the rating did not stay with us but booked the room for another guest. The guest was pleased with everything especially the bed and cleanliness but would have preferred to smoke inside the guesthouse which we do not allow. Smoking has to be outside only. This is why we have smoke alarms throughout. This is for the protection of all guest and it is law.

This guest did not stay with us and should have been registered as a no show as they booked and never entered the property.

This guest created havoc for their entire stay. On their arrival around 11pm they were surprised that the owners of the guesthouse were present. After midnight they ordered in food which is fine but they made a point to slam kitchen cupboards and wake up other guests. They were snooping in the guesthouse owner's refrigerator even though there is a guest refrigerator specifically for guests. They then quarreled loudly in their room in the middle of the night. Finally they created a flood in the washroom after showering maybe not having the knowledge of what to do with the shower curtain. The next morning they smiled and said thank you and left. We did everything possible for this guest and their review is an excuse for their disrespectful behavior.

The room size is 14ft X 12ft for a guesthouse it is considered pretty good but we can't compare to the Marriot. The washroom is 5ft outside of the bedroom and the attached washroom bedroom is about 10-12 more.

Unfortunately Expedia does not delete reviews from individuals with disorders but we as host treat all our guest with kindness and respect . Expedia on the listing shows exactly where the guesthouse is and it is not downtown Toronto. The guesthouse has central a/c and heating so when the nights go down to 10c in October the A/C does not go on. There guest failed to mention they had a fan in the room with two large windows that they left closed maybe because it was 10c overnight. It is a two story guesthouse and we don't mention an elevator maybe the guest has us confused with the Marriot.

This guest made a reservation for Monday September 18, 2023. Our check in time is 3pm but if by request we have had guest check in at times for 2pm. You want to know what time this guest showed up Sunday night at 2:30am. We were full Sunday night and this guest comes and rings and wakes up all the guest and says she has a reservation on Monday September 18. I told her guests already booked from the Sunday have their rooms until 11am and her reservation would be accepted Monday 3pm like others who had booked for that Monday. She does not mention that she asked to stay anywhere in the house until morning so we provided the only thing we could a couch in the living room that is usually off limit to guests. If we would have asked her to leave she would have had to call a cab/uber and make her way to some hotel and pay their full rate. The next morning we fortunately had a guest check out by 10am and we had her room clean and ready at 11:00am. Her boyfriend showed up and they left the room a mess the next morning. This is the thanks you get for saving someone who made a mistake and instead of being thankful she can't accept her error and give us an undeserving rating.

Yes our guesthouse does have more than 1 room. Most of our guest will respect the quiet hours.
