Donner Gem

We all had a great time in the cozy cabin in the woods. The back deck with the hot tub is a great place to have your morning coffee and relax. It is set back away from the street giving you a really remote feeling even though you are in the middle of a neighborhood. From this house, we walked to downtown Truckee along the Trout Creek Bike path-a 1.6 mile downhill paved bike trail-that was really nice. This home is perfect for a family with 2 children-highly recommend!

Cozy Winter Escape

We enjoyed our stay at Donner Gem! It's dog-friendly and well-located on a quiet loop low in Tahoe Donner. From the house, it's an easy drive to all the ski resorts and just minutes from everything that Truckee has to offer. We loved walking right from the house to nearby trails including the Donner Lake Rim Trail and Trout Creek path which is plowed all winter and allows you to walk to Truckee. While the house has nice basics, we brought quite a few things from home to make it more comfortable for us (e.g. seating, lighting, bedding as the pictures in the listing showed things that were not in the house upon our arrival). And since we are tall, we had to be careful not to hit our heads on the steep sloped roof beams in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. Overall, we appreciated Donner Gem as our primary home for 5 months!
