「This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. 「We really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a traditional experience this is the place. The village and the hostel in general is very cute. The only downside are the beds (traditional Japanese style) that are not really comfortable, you can hear everyone in the hostel as the room are separated by traditional paper doors. But you meet a lot of very nice people and socially it’s a really good opportunity 」

「Our experience was wonderful. We had almost no idea what to expect at Kamanuma - we just wanted to experience a traditional style Japanese Onsen and visit the beautiful Kiso valley. From the moment the chef/co-owner (brothers) picked us up at the train station, and all through the stay, the staff were very kind and helpful.
