Close to Wedding venue
My son got married at Larsmont Cottages and they dont accept dogs. So we rented the cabin for 3 nights so the dog could come with us. We couldn't have been more pleased, we had everything we needed and the place was spotless. We had plenty of room and enough bathrooms to get ready for the wedding festivities each day. Lovely views of the ships on the lake too.

Fall Getaway
Nice, secluded cabin. We planned to spend our time in Two Harbors and Duluth so it was the perfect middle ground. Nicely furnished, plenty of room for six adults. Had fun playing video games on the giant tv when the weather was rainy. This will be one of our top rental choices in the area!

Amazing low key getaway
We stayed here the night before my wedding with my groomsmen, and enjoyed being able to relax in the woods before my wedding. The views from the upstairs deck are amazing, looking through the trees, in our case some amazing fall foliage, and across Lake Superior was incredible. Sunrises and sunsets here are incredible. The inside is clean and well maintained, with a great, simple, log cabin feel. The downstairs TV worked great for streaming, and is streaming only (no DVD player etc). The firepit in the back worked great, and lives up to the low/no smoke reputation described in the booking. I would absolutely stay here again, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a simple escape in the north woods, which still allows for all with the comforts off home.

Awesome cabin
This is one of the cleanest properties we have ever stayed at. It was exactly what we were expecting. Great communication with the owner. My only suggestion would be to have wine glasses but it’s a minor detail! We hope to stay again in the future!

Not much of a lake view
The cabin was nice and clean and in great shape. There is no yard to speak of, there is a long staircase to get into the cabin, and the view of the lake is a small patch between the trees.

Beautiful, peaceful location!
We loved our stay here! So peaceful and such a beautiful cabin! Saw plenty of deer right outside and had a nice view of the lake. Lots of space and everything you could need and more. It’s in a perfect location as it’s only about 20 minutes to Duluth and a short drive up to Two Harbors. There was a bit of an ant issue on the lower level living area, but that’s part of being in the country/woods. Wouldn’t deter us from staying again.

Overall Good stay
The inside was very nice and clean. Disappointed with the exterior. The lawn was not mowed, it was long weedy and wild grass, and we could not use it all for outdoor activities at all. We did not have that great of view of Lake Superior as the listing made you believe.

Great getaway
The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and instantly relaxing. Perfect location for daytime adventures (Gooseberry Falls, Iona beach, Onyx beach) In the evenings we enjoyed cooking meals together, movie nights in the basement and sitting on the deck (perfect view of the night sky). Thanks for an awesome stay!

As advertised.
Large counter height dining room table accommodates 8. Can also eat at the island counter. The queen mattress is on the hard side. The bunk bed mattresses in the loft are thin and hard. The drawer space for clothing is limited. I used the bathroom vanity drawers and the floor. There are few hangers, if any. The hooks by the doors were nice and we really liked the area at the entry with all the cubbies and lots of space for wet boots and shoes. There were plenty of towels. Wish there were some towel racks, and clothes drying rack. We brought extra skillets and there we're plenty of sharp knives. There are two cutting boards. We would have liked more coffee mugs. The king room has one nightstand and no dresser. The heat worked very well though the high ceiling fan needs cleaning. The stove is electric. It was a good base camp for daily and evening outings. Highly recommend Cedar and Stone Sauna and Nordic skiing at snowflake.

Very nice cabin & location. Beds were excellent, pillows were pitiful - very flat. Oven did not work - took 30-45 min of searching on-line error codes to figure out & fix the problem. Minimal amount of toilet paper provided. Need to provide more than one roll per bathroom when it is a larger group staying longer. (5 people x 7 days requires more than 2 rolls). Good amount of kitchen dishes & cookware. Even though not listed in amenities, nice 4-slice toaster provided. Coffeemaker is a Keurig Duo (k-cups, or flat bottom 12-cup paper filters). Grab bars in the showers and stair hand rail for the 3 bottom steps to the lower level would be nice. The bedroom with King size bed definitely needs a dresser for clothes - especially with no closet. The tiny drawers in the bedside tables are not adequate. And who built your deck? While the roof has 4x4 posts between deck and roof over it, the entire structure is supported by 1 x 6 boards that are severely bent - maybe from the added weight or maybe because the attachment to the house is not even lined up with the attachment to the deck. It would never pass a building inspection where I live. Guess the builder figured it out because your house at 515 Salakka has the deck supported by 4 x 4 posts. While instructions for distributing heat or AC, and how to use the TV were adequate, you might want to tell renters that they can turn off the obnoxious LED lights surrounding the kitchen cabinets via the remote in the far right side upper cabinet.

Quick Trip
Took a quick trip to visit family in two harbors. Great location and very nice well appointed house. The place was clean and especially appreciated the nice linens and comfortable bed. Tv room was a nice added bonus. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect spot for our family to stay during a wedding weekend in Duluth. We were able to spend time at Gooseberry Falls and Two Harbors also. Beautiful spot... and great that we had enough bathrooms to all get ready easily. Star gazing was amazing from the deck!

Spacious, great location, clean and comfortable.
This is a great space for a group of people- ;3 levels with bedrooms and bath on each level makes it a perfect house for a family get together as well as providing private space. We loved having a view of beautiful Lake Superior and were even blessed with a rainbow one evening. The cooking and dining area is easy to work in and roomy. The house is well taken care of, it’s obvious the owners have put a lot of thought into the design and didn’t scrimp on bedding or linens. The fire pit was so efficient and the grassy prairie lands that surround the home are dotted with wild flowers. So natural and beautiful. Being so close to Two Harbors made it easy to find great restaurants, shopping and amazing adventures . We’d definitely come back!

This was exactly as stated! The space was great for adults and teens. The location was perfect for us - halfway between Duluth and Two Harbors. It made it super easy to head up the north shore for day trips. The property and amenities seem to be brand new, and very well cared for. Chad was amazing to work with through the entire process, including a slight date adjustment. Thanks for the weekend getaway!

Family get-away with grandpa!
We had a great time at the house. It was wonderful for our family plus grandpa (who could have a whole floor to himself at night). It was also just the right distance from sights (including Split Rock Lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls, Two Harbors, Duluth, etc.) to allow us to come and go as needed during the day to give kids rest time as needed. Kids are already asking when we can go back!

perfect getaway spot
This property was an awesome find! We were up north for a chill bachelorette party and this location was perfect, tucked right off the highway up a dirt road a ways where it was private and quiet. We had everything we needed and it was very clean and cozy. The wifi was a bit slow on your phone, but the tv downstairs works great for movie and shows. If you have Verizon the service in this spot was fine. The hosts were also very helpful and responded quickly. Lastly we all loved having a view of Lake Superior, made it that much better! Thank you

Great place to relax and get away
We enjoyed our time at this cabin and it’s proximity to both Duluth and Two Harbors. The cabin is brand new so everything worked perfectly, and the furniture was very comfortable for reclining with a book or watching a movie. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, so you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to! This is a great cabin to relax and get away for a few days.

3 couples on motorcycles for a couple days of riding the North Shore. The place was excellent!

Perfect north shore getaway
This was the second time my husband and I have stayed at this cabin. We relaxed on the deck, listened to music and took in the view of Lake Superior. It is the perfect location for exploring up the shore and Duluth. The cabin is extremely clean and comfortable. We would recommend a pint at Castle Danger in Two Harbors (with take out pizza from Northshore Pizza) and Ursa Minor in Duluth (great pizza as well). Both are dog friendly and we sure appreciated the ability to have our 11 year old pup with us. This cabin is wonderful. We will be back for our 29th anniversary next year!

Fantastic Property
This cabin, if not new, is close to new and in excellent condition. The kitchen has all the amenities that you need, the bedrooms and bathrooms are the same. Peaceful and quiet location with a view of the lake over the trees from the wrap around deck. I would return to this property again without question. Finally, the owners were responsive and communicated everything we needed in advance. A terrific experience overall.
