"Our room had a beautiful view of Canadarago Lake. There are 13 steps to the second floor with a landing midway to rest if needed. The room was redone and looked immaculate with newer bedding and wall decorations. The large common area had a completely furnished kitchen and newer appliances.. This was such a beautiful, comfy stay! "

"A great find. A beautiful old building and well kept interior with appropriate upgrades in bathroom. Very comfy bed and pillows, quiet and friendly. Fun evening at the restaurant across the street with the locals. Will make it a point to stay here when next in the area! "

"The staff and breakfast were excellent. For areas of improvement, the road sign needs a light to illuminate it at night and the plants around it need to be trimmed to improve visibility. The landscaping on the grounds and on the porch need upkeep and improvement. It would be helpful to add a write up or plaque about the history of the home as you enter."

"I stayed here while my son played in the Cooperstown baseball tournament. David was so helpful and friendly, and treated me like family. The view was stunning; I will miss having coffee on the deck overlooking the lake as well as David's amazing breakfasts. Oh, and his cookies were to die for! :)"

"We checked in on our own for just 10 minutes and left this place. Nobody present to welcome us. No wifi and or internet, all fridges were unplugged. Web everywhere. Trees overgrown on hot tub and pool and many more! "

"Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The pillows did not have liners in the pillow cases and were stained so we did not use them. The sheets had other people's hair on them, so we didn't use the cover sheets or blankets. "We came in for the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend (about 40min away) and stayed at this B&B. The owners are incredibly hospitable, breakfast is great, and the historic home setting is good as well. The drive to Cooperstown is through some gorgeous and serene countryside settings."

"While the rooms and furnishings are very nice, the bathrooms we not cleanly or updated. The night I stayed there, the power had gone off and there was no air conditioning and the no water. This could be a nice B&B but the outdoors need to be improved. For starters, they could remove the junk water heater from the front porch."

"Having been born and raised in this area, I wasn't familiar with this location when trying to find a place close to family when coming back to visit. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. The problem came from the fact that nothing had been cleaned in quite some time. When I entered the B&B it was pitch black and I wasn't sure I was even in the...

"This apartment in a home near the Masonic Care Home was better than staying in a hotel. The owner met us at the door to see if we needed any help. It was less than a five minute ride to the campus. I will be checking in the future to see if it is available each time I'm in the area. Again more comfortable then a hotel room."

"My family and I were in for an event at Syracuse University in early April. The house was great and we loved the space and location. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Bill."
