"The pictures do not do show what you experience at this castle. The Staff, Rooms, yards and the food are all amazing. Rare find."

"The whole property is so peaceful and clearly a labour of love - our room (Granit) was huge and beautifully decorated. The pool is large and the views are amazing. Madeleine was very helpful at check in but we had our privacy the rest of the time. We highly recommend a stay here."

"We turned up at the hotel for a 3nights extended bank holidays weekend just to find out that the hotel was privatised and fully booked with nowhere to sleep in town or in the neighbouring villages !!! Owner refused to speak to Hotels.com since apparently he has only signed a contract with Expedia (but didn’t acknowledge it was the same company!) and refused to speak English... Hotels.com was not able to sort it out not find anywhere else and we had to drive back home 3hrs in the other direction...

"We had an absolute lovely and relaxed stay at the House of Noble Nicolas-Jules. Hubert and Chantal are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The house has a very characteristic appearance with a great garden with a beautiful view. Every morning a delicious breakfast was provided by Chantal. Our kids enjoyed themselves with the swimming pool, the table tennis table and the numerous boardgames available. Avallon is a nice town with several nice restaurants at walking distance. In the...
