Idyllic Cottage

From the outside it looks small and it opens up into such a beautiful space. Great fun being by the pond and an easy walk into town. Would highly recommend the pottery at Bonchurch, there are some great examples in the house also!

Lovely stay

Very comfortable accommodations for our party of 4 adults. Our only complaint was that the shower is very small and cramped if you are an adult, but we did appreciate having an enclosed shower. Enjoyed the location, within walking distance of Ventnor's shops and quite excellent restaurants. Ruth was helpful and very easy to work with. Would stay again if we return to the Isle of Wight!

A beautiful location for exploring the Island.

Grebe Cottage was clean and cosy. We had a lovely short stay. The village pond opposite the cottage is beautiful and The Bonchurch Inn serves lovely food. Great walking on the doorstep.

Beautiful place

Well positioned in lovely location , fine view over lovely pond but also 10 minute walk to sea and Ventnor only 5 minutes by car. Property well equipped, location peaceful

Grebe Cottage

Grebe Cottage is a lovely place to stay. The location is charming, easy to pop in to Ventnor for supplies and well situated for seeing the island. We did not have parking issues and the cottage is a real home from home with a very well- equipped kitchen.

Lovely cottage, brilliant location

Cottage had everything you could need - kitchen was really well stocked beyond the basics, comfortable rooms throughout, good WiFi, really clean and everything was easy to use. The location is idyllic and a perfect base - the short walk to Ventnor, Monks Bay 5/10 mins walk away and the Bonchurch Inn meant that if you wanted a day without driving you could still get out and about. The pond opposite really added to the stay and interest with lots of wildlife visiting. All in all a fabulous place, would highly recommend.

Home from home.

We initially had a little hiccup which was sorted straight away by Ruth who was really helpful. The cottage had everything we needed, it was lovely in a great location not far from Ventnor town an ideal base to explore the area such as Freshwater bay, Steephill cove.

Nice stay at a lovely cottage

We had a very nice stay at this lovely cottage. Bonchurch is a beautiful village and a good starting point for hikes, walks to the beach or other trips. The only thing we missed as a family was a garden to relax or let the kids play. However, we used our time then for great trips instead.

We stayed in this property for 3 nights. A nice area close walk to a beautiful beach and historic church. The property itself has lots of cobwebs everywhere. The shower cubicle is very small and very much in need of new clean seals as they are very dirty! There is a note in the kitchen recommending to use the water jug but the jug was half full with green slimy water, no way we could use it. On leaving, we stripped our beds as we always do out of courtesy… only to find that our bed ( main bedroom) has a mattress that is filthy!! Had we known it was in such a filthy state we wouldn’t have stayed here!!For this reason we absolutely do not recommend this property! Disgusting!

Amazing

Simply the best place to stay in Isle of Wight. Brilliant beds great shower lovely kitchen, love the big window at the front and the nice garden. The patio is a good sun trap for sun bathing. We loved feeding the ducks in the pond, amazing unspoilt English countryside. Whenever we go back to Isle of Wight, Glebe Cottage is our first choice every time. Wonderful. Thank you

Fab stay in a great cottage

From the moment we walked through the door we felt at home. The cottage looks tiny from the front but opens up as you go in and was the perfect size for the 4 of us. 3 adults, one child and one dog. The cottage itself was very well equipped and with a lovely patio area out the back. We loved the location opposite the pond and a short walk to the beautiful dog friendly, Monks Bay. We also walked up the steep steps to Bonchurch Inn. Worth a visit, set around a beautiful courtyard and serving lovely Italian food. I would highly recommend a stay here and would love to return.

Perfect base

This cottage is almost perfect, being spacious, light, and well-equipped. The slight, very slight, defect being no view from the suntrap courtyard. However, it's a short walk to the sea front and village green so not really an issue. The pond opposite is also a pleasure: teeming with life. Great base for walking straight from the door - the coast path to Shanklin and up onto Boniface Down. The Bonchurch Inn is a lovely spot for a pint, but is currently up for sale - hopefully the new owners will keep it going and keep its character.

Fantastic property. Wonderful village with close proximity to a lovely morning walk to Ventnor

Wonderful house. Everything there that you wanted for a fantastic holiday. Lovely conservatory and decking area where you could relax in the late afternoon sun. Very dog friendly area. Wonderful small village with an undulating wonder down to a traffic free walk into Ventnor and onto a hilly walk to another traffic free village called Steephill Cove. Achievable by an active and fit 85 year old!! Not far from wonderful beaches on the glorious South Coast Road. The glorious views from Alum Bay to the Needles and over the Downs to the Tennison Monument. What a wonderful time we had with the most fantastic weather. Thank you. We will return soon.
