Smoking or vaping are not allowed on the premises. Not inside, on the front porch, back deck, near the shed... no where.
‐----------------------------------------------------------
Only one pet is allowed without specific prior approval. The pet fee must be paid at time of booking. If a service animal exception to the pet fee is being claimed, papers must be produced to prove service animal status. Failure to produce correct paperwork within 48 hours of the booking will result in the pet fee being added to the booking.
Failure to notify us about a pet, service animal or bringing more than one pet without approval will result in a $150 fee being assessed. We are very flexible on all of this: just let us know up front and we will work with you to accommodate your family and their specific needs.
We charge a pet fee because it costs more to clean the cabin afterwards. Many of our guests have had animal related allergies and we must make sure the cabin is clean for their safety.
Because of the allergy issue, we have to ask that your pet not get on the furniture or the beds. We have a large dog bed available for your use.
And we love cats, but are both allergic to them, so we can't host cats. There's a neighborhood cat, you can call him Tiger or Grifter: if he decides to, he'll answer to both. He will tell you sad stories about how neglected he is and how he hasn't been fed in weeks. Don't believe him. He's a cat. It's what they do.

5) Do not enter the off limits areas (see below).

Directions:
The cabin’s address is 2265 Citico Road, Vonore, TN.
The cabin is 16 miles from Vonore. We recommend you get gas, supplies and fishing licenses, etc. before leaving Vonore. But, if you forget something, Citico Trading Post has opened recently and is 2.6 miles from the cabin (back toward Vonore). Look for the giant, carved, wooded bottle.
Cell phones / Wi-Fi:
There isn’t any cell signal once you get past Sloans, so make sure you have the map already pulled up on Waze or ----------- Maps before you leave Vonore.
The wireless connection will let you call while you’re at the cabin (if Wi-Fi calling works on your phone) and will work all the way to the creek most of the time. The cabin has a land line phone and that number. You can call one of us for help if you have problems and the internet is down: the phone inside the cabin should work whether the internet does or not.
Again, make sure you have your GPS app working and directing you to the cabin before you leave Vonore/Sloans. There is no cell service after that point and you won’t be able to load the address without cell service.
Heaters and air-conditioners:
The “fireplace” in the living room underneath the TV is a heater. Depending on the outside temperature we may have left the heater on in the living room and it should keep the rest of the cabin warm if you leave the door to the kitchen open. There is are portable electric heaters in the dining area that can be used to heat that part of the cabin if required.
During the spring, summer and early fall, you will probably find one of the two air conditioners in the main room running when you get there.
Please turn off the heaters or air conditioners when you leave the cabin.
Water:
The hot and cold water handles on the kitchen and bathroom sinks are reversed. Hot is on the right and cold is on the left. The shower is normal.
The ice maker takes regular water but don’t over fill it – if you overfill it, it will make ice but not well.
Firepit:
If you choose to have a fire, please check the weather services and forest service for current information burn ban status. We ask that you pick up the leaves and sticks around the firepit to prevent a fire from spreading accidentally. You can use sticks in the fire. Please keep the fire small.
We don’t supply firewood. Several stores in Telico Plains have bundles available for purchase. The Citico Trading Post up Citico Road from the cabin also has firewood.
DO NOT STEAL THE NEIGHBOR’S FIREWOOD!!!!!!
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, LEAVE A FIRE UNATTENDED!!!!! If our neighbors report that this has happened, you will be asked to leave.
Smoking:
The cabin, front porch, shed porch and back deck are no smoking and no vaping zones. Smoking or vaping in these areas will result in an additional charge of $150.
Smoking is allowed by the creek.
Throw your butts in the trash and not in the firepit or on the ground or in the creek. Butts thrown on the ground or in the firepit will result in a post stay fine.
Pets:
Failure to disclose pets during the booking process will result in a fine and may result in you being asked to leave early. You must pay the pet fee – failure to do so will result in a $100 fine ($50 pet fee plus $50 fine) with an additional $50 per pet.
Pets must be on a leash at all times when outside. Failure to do that may result in a fine or being asked to leave.
Service animals require paperwork be sent to us before your stay.
Bag your dog’s poop. Don’t leave it in the yard. We have provided bags in the pantry cabinets in the cabin for that purpose. Failure to bag your pets’ poop will result in a post stay fine.
Keep this in mind: The cabin is approximately 700 square feet and is not set up for large dogs. We have a single large dog bed for your use. Do not let your dogs, of any size, get on the beds or furniture. Failure to comply with this will result in a $100 fine.
Off Limits Areas:
The storage room in the cabin (behind the white accordion type door), the area between the cabin and shed, the shed porch and under the deck and shed are off limits to guests and visitors.
Cameras:
The outside of the property is monitored by cameras. The cameras are at the front door, back door and monitoring the creek. No inside guest areas are monitored by cameras. We reserve the right to monitor off limits areas as necessary. These are not guest areas (see above).
Coffee, plates, paper towels…:
Feel free to use the coffee, cocoa, creamer… in the coffee station. Paper products are for your convenience.
Deck Furniture:
Anything removed from the porch or deck must be returned. Failure to do so will result in $150 fine after your stay.
Garbage:
There is no garbage service at the cabin. If you need to dispose of garbage during your stay, please take it to the Vonore Transfer Station at 145 Tellico Port Rd, Vonore, TN 37885 or the Monroe County Waste Management Tellico Plains Station, 487 Bank St, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
Weather:
Eastern Tennessee winters can be moderate or have ice storms and 6” of snow. Mountain roads can be treacherous in rain and ice. While rare, the creek sometimes rises out of its banks and floods the backyard. If a weather event prevents you from getting to the cabin or forces you to leave early, we will work with you refunding the remaining portion of your stay less any pet and/or cleaning fees.
Enjoy your stay and let us know if you need anything.
