I have stayed at this place twice. I will be again. It’s peaceful and nice. Love the pool and the beach few steps away. The rooms are airy and pretty.

This is our third time at Mari del Sud in the past six years, and unfortunately, we’ve noticed it’s slowly declining. It’s a pity, because the resort has such great potential, so close to the sea and the beautiful Sabbie Nere beach and head a beautiful swimming pool. One major downside is the lack of a transfer service from the harbor to the hotel. We had the service during previous stays, and most hotels and resorts on the island of Vulcano still offer it. Although the receptionist said the hotel is walkable, I wouldn’t recommend it if you're traveling with elderly people, as I was. We ended up having to call a taxi for both directions, which cost €15 each way. Breakfast is good and the staff do their best, but the number of waiters is insufficient for the volume of guests. The swimming pool opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., so if you're an early riser or looking to unwind after an excursion, it’s disappointing to find the pool closed. Housekeeping cleans the rooms daily, which is appreciated, though again the limited number of staff means your room might be serviced late in the day, often when you're back for a siesta. I really hope Mari del Sud will go back being the resort everybody used to love.

Outstanding Staff

Beautiful grounds with a view of the smoking Vulcano, absolutely stunning. A fantastic pool and beautiful black beach make this a really fun hotel. The service is fabulous, the staff really cares about making your stay comfortable.

Dejligt sted🌞

Rent og pænt hotel - tæt på stranden, hvor man skal betale for liggestolene. Personalet er meget venlige og servicemindet. Poolen er ren - uden klorvand. Dejlig have med liggestole og udendørsbruser. Morgenmaden får 10 stjerner. Der er noget for alle - og fadene fyldes hele tiden op. Vulkano er en lille men hyggelig ø.

Non si può certo pretendere condizioni impeccabili alla fine della stagione, con forte vento e pioggia perdipiú. Preso atto di questo, camera spaziosa e luminosa, climatizzata, con patio dedicato e zona relax, buona e variegata la colazione, personale gentilissimo e collaborativo. En raison du mauvais temps les compagnies ont annulé toutes les liaisons maritimes vers Vulcano (liberty lines, siremar), le directeur de l'hôtel a été contacté à plusieurs reprises, la situation expliquée, toutes les navigations étant supprimées. Un contact avait été fait la veille avec l'établissement dans le cadre normal de la venue. Malgré ce cas de force majeure, a refusé de rembourser pour cette prestation non accomplie. Démontre que les touristes sont des usines à pigeons. À ÉVITER VOIRE À FUIR. Vous serez avertis en tout cas si vous rencontrez le même problème qui semble être fréquent avec les annulations intempestives des ferry!

Nettes Hotel auf Vulcano mit großer Garten- und Poolanlage, ca. 10 Gehminuten entfernt vom Hafen. Das Hotel ist insgesamt ordentlich und gepflegt. Nach deutschem Standard würde ich (statt der 4) gute 3 Sterne schätzen. Wir blieben 2 Nächte. Im Detail hakt es an manchen Stellen (Zimmer/Zubehör ist teilweise defekt oder abgenutzt). Wir hatten zunächst ein Zimmer, bei dem eine Tür in der Dusche fehlte. Die Toilettenbürste war defekt und man hörte jedes (!) Geräusch im Zimmer nebenan, da nur eine Holztür die Zimmer trennte! Wir reklamierten diesen Umstand und waren überaus positiv überrascht über die Reaktion des jungen Mannes (Danke an LUCA 😊) an der Rezeption. Er entschuldigte sich aufrichtig und hat uns umgehend für den nächsten Tag ein neues Zimmer organisiert (am selben Abend war leider alles ausgebucht, was er mir sogar zeigte). Das neue Zimmer war viel besser, das Bad war zwar auch etwas abgenutzt und es roch ein wenig aus dem Abfluss. Aber ok, für uns zählte, dass man sich bemühte und dass man Reklamationen hier offenbar sehr ernst nimmt. Das Essen (wir hatten nur Frühstück) war reichhaltig und appetitlich arrangiert und es sollte eigentlich jeder fündig werden. Der Pool ist optimal für eine kleine Abkühlung und ein Sonnenbad. Der Transfer vom/zum Hafen ist gratis, was uns dazu bewegte, dem Fahrer ein kleines Trinkgeld zu geben, weil auch wenige Minuten bei der brütenden Hitze im Juli/August und mit Gepäck nicht sehr viel Spaß machen. Trotz kleiner Mankos insgesamt top!

Hotel molto bello. Le camere hanno eccellenti rifiniture e sono con aria condizionata. Eccellente la colazione. Gli spazi esterni e la piscina in pietra sono molto belli, ampi e verdi con alberi e molte piante. Lo scenario è unico sulla baia di Ponente a Vulcano.

La réceptionniste qui parlait français était adorable ai si que le mr qui conduit la navette au port. La chambre était fraiche et propre, la grande salle de bain agréable. Les espaces vert magnifiques, la piscine belle. Le petit déjeuné est tres bien , salé et sucré en quantité. Le seul problème était que nous avons passé une mauvaise nuit car les volets sont des persiennes et les rideaux n’étant pas occultants la lumière des éclairages innonde la chambre la nuit et le soleil se lève dans la chambre. Hormis cela c’était une belle experience avec un super personnel.
