We spent a weekend in Waco and stayed at the Hotel 1928. The stay was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a drink in the bar and morning coffee in the library. A beautiful spot to relax and refresh.
Friendly courteous staff. Property needs a little maintenance, but very clean and historic.

Decor was beautiful, food was excellent, service was amazing. We have stayed in great hotels in the past, but this may be our favorite. Everything is designed to make the guest comfortable without being pretentious. Loved every minute we were there!

Have been wanting to stay at this hotel for a while.
Super nice staff and room was beautiful, but it was also rather pricy. Not a place I would stay frequently but I’m glad we did it one time.
Hotel is lovely. Staff were pleasant. Dinner on the Roof Top was 5 star. Thank you to the incredible chef and to the attentive staff. That evening was perfect. Over all our experience was wonderful, but pricey.
Amazing hotel in Waco! Loved Chip and Joanna’s creation in downtown Waco. Everything about this hotel is timeless and tasteful. Our room (306) was comfy, quiet, and just perfect for our one night stay. We dined at Bertie’s and the Brassiere - Bertie’s was a bit loud for our taste and the food was very good - breakfast at the Brassiere was next level good. Service was just the right balance of attentiveness and friendliness. Highly recommend a stay at this first class hotel - well worth the premium price!
We had a fantastic two night stay at Hotel 1928. If you’re a Magnolia enthusiast, this is a must. Staff were so kind and helpful. Room was beautiful and spacious. Food at all the on site restaurants was also phenomenal. Not a complaint to be found and I would highly recommend staying at Hotel 1928
I am in agreement with many reviews already posted: The Hotel was very cool and design beautiful, but it was not worth the dollars charged. Staff was good, but far from great. Waco overall was a disappointment, and other than Magnolia, I would definitely not had made a stop.
Every inch of this property has been designed to give comfort to its guests. It has modern conveniences in old world charm. The staff truly seeks to welcome you home. Each room is spacious and unique. It was a joy for my wife and I to be a guest.
Great 1920's era feel. Very nice. Roof restaurant had great food and very nice view. Room was excellent, a little pricey for Waco, TX, but if they can keep it full, more power to them. We would stay there on occasion when in town.
Unashamedly we were in town for a Fixer Upper fix. Hotel 1928 was a must stay and it didn’t disappoint. Our Austin room was tastefully decorated, clean and spacious. We also dined at Bertie’s rooftop and had one of our more refined (and healthy) meals in Texas so far. Walkable to Silos and also had free street parking available.

The room itself was quite nice. The pillows for a king bed did not match. Pet peeve. The restaurant on the top floor needed baskets of blankets about for customers to snag one to use. Too cold to enjoy. Arrived right after a shower so the entire outside was unusable. A number of the cushions outside appeared moldy. Yes little things but what you pay to stay there they should not exist. Staff was quite friendly, perhaps a bit too open with their lives and the owners.
In general the hotel was fine, but the soundproofing is severely lacking and I was subjected to the entire conversation between the 2 women in the room next to me. They were not loud, talking at normal levels, but I could hear everything they said...
Thankfully the mini-fridge in the room, which apparently runs on diesel, was just banging just loud enough to drowned out the gals long enough for me to get to sleep.
I was also told the rooftop restaurant, where I had booked a table, was closed due to a maintenance issue, although I was later informed was more driven by understaffing for a private event that evening. Not ideal, but I enjoyed a nice casual meal in the ground floor Brasserie.
5 stars all the way, just Waco is a little dirty, run down in other areas. Chip and Joanna are well appreciated for all the people they employ, and the differance they are making in the community
