“Well designed Thermal Mass house in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Lovely getaway from the busy city. Short drive to beach and shops. Two stores close by and a Four Square, also a popular fish and chop shop and bar. Limited internet access, no tv, so we played lots of family games. Only slightly negative point was the steep driveway, but my husband coped by putting his foot down! Joanna was a great host and very responsive. We would definitely stay again ”

“Beach cottage (also called Orowaru cottage) is a gem. We had a great week there. I can particularly recommend sitting on the front verandah watching the tide roll in and out. Deeply peaceful. And well appointed for your every need. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. So many marae, so many early churches, friendly locals wherever we went. I came home with a lovely handmade rug from the Kohukohu Village Arts. The little Kohukohu library is another gem.”

“Nostalgic Privilege! 280 degree front views of the moana, acres of lush green yonder with hahi, urupā, te waka aa kaihao and peaceful tranquility. Pickering Cottage stay was clean, with cosy nooks, traditional cuboards and their fittings, slanted walls, drift wood curtain rods and door handles. Traditional side draws and dining furnisher, no wall paper present with my favourite being the wide KAURI floors. WOW!! Enjoyed the huge washing utility room that housed everything from washing……
